This is true. But….
More athletic? No
Smaller? Yes
Smarter? Mixture, but the game has advanced so much that I’d say players today have more knowledge of the game
To answer your question, most of these people are still Bama fans and still purchase their apparel from Walmart, but I’m not sure if they still watch the games or not.
I’ll admit the bandwagoners are a real thing. When I was in my early twenties I’d watch Bama games by myself. After Saban started coaching, I’d have upwards to about 15-20 people coming to my place and basically made a party out of it every weekend. Now suddenly I’m watching games by myself again unless it’s my wife’s off weekend
