The crossbow matters.

It makes it so much worse.

Ebikes are everywhere now darting in and out of traffic, usually no helmets, often drunk or high.

Probably checking their email or smoking an e-cigarette. I hope they get ED or Ebola.

I saw one in Houston the other day. You have to have a death wish to drive around here on that.

The fats love them. It's all the fun of riding a bike with no effort. When I'm out running I notice that 90% of people on them aren't pedaling at all and just run the throttle.

They have replaced county signs for sprinting. When I ride past one, I hit them with the customary "on your left" and when they see I am 100% human powered, they invariably crank the throttle. Then it's on.

If it bothers you so much, stop driving.

Problem solved.

All my kids friends have them. Riding all over Mandeville. The crazy thing is if one of these kids run over some old lady on a bike path or run into someone’s car in a parking lot neither homeowners or car insurance will cover it. If they end up severely injuring grandma or damaging someone’s property then their parents are about to owe a shite ton of money personally as no policy will cover that accident.

Twice, both times on 8' wide running paths, I have had near accidents from kids screaming past me on my left just as I was moving left due to someone stopped while their dog was on a leash and doing its business. I swear, if sone kid runs into me I'm going to destroy the damned scooter right there and tell the rider to tell his parents they're damned lucky I don't sue.

I ride this one, fixing to go on a ride right now.

It's a Class 1, which means pedal assist only. It's carbon and weighs 45 lbs. It's a 29er, that seat height you see is 43" off the ground.

I'm 64, 6'2 185 lbs (yes, OT skinny), been in afib 24/7 for the past 3 years.

I do not have the power / longevity to do all the climbing I'm accustomed to for bike parks here in Virginia.

I only ride off road with it, on designated mountain bike trails.

I rode dirt bikes as a kid. This is my happy place in the world, hauling arse through the woods. And this thing is a beast / godsend.

I had to slam on my breaks the other day turning into my neighborhood because one was flying down the sidewalk in my direction.

Idk the rules enough, but I’d assume they are treated like a bike and not allowed to be on the sidewalk at all, much less going against traffic on the sidewalk. But that’s the most dangerous part that they seemed to think they had the right of way.

I caught up with the dipshit and gave him a good talking to and he said he was there first so he had the “right way” but bikes ALWAYS yeild to motor vehicles.

You might want to check on that before you flatten someone under your 40-inch tires and catch a vehicular homicide charge.

But it is also not enforced.
Sounds like some of those offenders should be getting spontaneous tire punctures. I bet old or fat guys having to hike back out might be a deterrence.

E-bikes are the problem, or the idiots driving them are the problem?

I do cycling on the road, but I hug the far right line and don't swerve in and out of the lane. Situational awareness is a thing.

My assumption about E bikers is since they are motorized then they have access as a motorcyclist would. They need to be aware they are still considered as a cyclist and operate like they are.

It’s all the seasonal J-1 Visa works use. That and the e-scooters. And they’re always wearing all black, no lights, etc.

Dumbasses on Ebikes are going 40mph on the lake ponchatrain bike paths zipping right by me. Have to turn my music off when one’s nearby just to make sure I don’t get obliterated.

Also this is why people are fat or have chicken legs. No work. Lazy fricks
