have they infiltrated the beach towns yet?

They are all over Santa Monica and Venice, especially the boardwalk. Not in the southern beach towns like Watercolor or Rosemary as much but coming soon. None in Nantucket that I see. A problem in Narragansett. In fact, RI has issued some bans on e-bikes even in Parks. Those are the only beach towns I have visited recently.

The thing that annoys me most about the e-bikes and scooters is that many of them go just fast enough that it makes it difficult to pass them up but slow enough that you want to go around them.

And often times it’s a kid on them and they have zero sense for traffic laws.

A couple weeks ago there was a kid on one of those scooters riding on the street near the curb at that weird speed where it’s too slow for the road but too fast to quickly pass them without gunning it for a second. When I decided I was going to pass him, he decided he wanted to turn left, so he just darts to the left right in front of my car. Didn’t look at all. Just darted right in front. I didn’t need to slam on my brakes because I was being extra careful because I was on alert that he might do something stupid. And unsurprisingly, he did the most retarded thing possible.

You hunt midwest public right?

I hunt MO, but we have a lease. 2 of my buddies have ebikes that they bring. They certainly make it easier to get around on the farm.

My only gripe is using them off trail on public. I mostly hunt public in LA and the main place I hunt doesn't allow any motorized vehicles (trail or not), but the wardens don't seem to care about ebikes, which is annoying.

Yeah there is a lot of that. Aggravates the hell out of me as well. I've chewed a few baws out for it but I haven't dropped a dime on anybody yet. I guess it doesn't really matter what state you're in, most hunters are illiterate and can't read the regulations. They just go off of what their buddy tells them because it is what they want to hear. I wish they'd just outright ban them on public. I'm fine with walking if it means I'm getting away from folks.

I guess they'd have to set up on a trail or something to catch them. Probably not a priority with how few wardens there are. I was checked last year and had a regular ole pedal bike on my truck, they asked about it and said oh ok you're good.
