E-bikes are becoming a big problem

I know the OT hates on all the wannabe tourdefrance folks but at least those guys wear helmets and in general stay to the far right of the road and have some situational awareness
Ebikes are everywhere now darting in and out of traffic, usually no helmets, often drunk or high. News story almost every day of people getting hit by cars
Probably a dream for Gordon but a mess for everybody else

have they infiltrated the beach towns yet?

How do you know they are often drunk or high?

E-bikes are the problem, or the idiots driving them are the problem?

The fats love them. It's all the fun of riding a bike with no effort. When I'm out running I notice that 90% of people on them aren't pedaling at all and just run the throttle.

Sounds like, with time, the problem will take care of itself.

They’re out of control in South Carolina. Half of them are modded and by definition require a license. Local Pd just impounded a ton of them over the last week
But yeah there are going to be a lot of accidents this summer I bet.

Sounds like a problem with its own solution.

It’s either Canadians or kids of wealthy republicans
Had a kid absolutely eat shite on our street Saturday. He was skint up bad

If it's on Siegen Lane, high on "flowers" should be assumed.

Pretty sure every kid over the age of ten has one in my neighborhood. Half the time no helmet and some of these things can do 30mph. They’ll get banned when one of the kids gets a brain injury or runs over a grandma.

I watched one almost wipe out a family and dog on White Oak yesterday. It's a real problem. And they get so butt hurt when i drop in behind to draft them and they can't pull away.

Better than them being drunk or high and driving a car.

Everyone can see the problem coming down the road. (See what I did there?)
I am a Small Government Conservative but, in this instance, I can't figure out why our legislators aren't on top of this.
I don't really care about the dummies on the bikes but I don't want them to mess up the hood of my car when I hit them. I especially don't want to see the bullshite nuisance lawsuit Gordon will file either.

Come visit an ER.
Those things are a menace.

The parents who turn their kids loose on what amounts to a motorcycle is what gets me. It is like they believe that because the bike is electric physics ceases to exist.

Its worse as a hunter.
You used to be able to just hike further than all the olds and fatties.
Now they all have e-bikes and crossbows and ride them off trail to get to places once only the people willing to put in work could go.
I loathe them.

I'm pretty sure most of the complaints about these things are already covered by current laws. There is a lack of enforcement.
Like parking laws (I made a thread the other day), driving in the left lane on the interstate, etc.
