That time of year, people have parties to watch the LSU games, good food and lots of booze. My wife insists we go, I think this is the only part of football she enjoys, and I hate them.

When I watch an LSU game on TV, I'm locked in, I don't want to talk about gall bladder operations, new grandkids, anniversaries, just football. By definition the parties are men and women, and many of the women are not there to watch a football game.

It's not too bad when the guys are in the den with the game and the women in the kitchen drinking wine, but I really like watching by myself with maybe another equally focused guy.

The Houston alumni association watch parties are pretty fun. Especially when TGBFTL drummer is there.

I like small watch parties where we’re actually watching the game.

I like actually watching the games so I’d prefer no watch party

I'm with you. I don't mind watching it at home so I can focus on the game.

Maybe a small group together to watch it but there can't be too much background chit chat going on.

A large party with a lot of people? I don't like it

When we're watching with our close family friends who are equally locked into the game, yes. If we are with people who do not care about football then no. I got into trouble with my mom as a grown man for yelling at my aunt for saying "Oh well there's always next year" immediately after the Minneapolis Miracle

My karma was that the next year was even worse.

Depends on the setting and who's there.

I have a buddy who likes to consolidate everything in his life. Its rarely "hey come over and watch the game. I'll have some great food and booze."

Its always "We'll watch the LSU game but its also going to be my kid's birthday party."

So I can't just sit and watch the game and bitch about the normal football things I like to bitch about. I have to watch what I say because there are 20 8-year-olds running around. Because God forbid I let a Goddammit slip out and get scolded by some little shite's mom.

No. They're usually during hunting season and I'd rather be at my camp.

Me too, you may remember who won but nothing else.

You miss the drama of the game with 4-5 people talking at the same time.

You left out someone showing you a non-funny YouTube video from their phone on 4th & goal.

I gotta say, I really enjoyed LSU Bama regular season 2011.

LSU Auburn 2004, not so much.

The only watch party I like is being in Tiger Stadium.

Not for big games, no. I like to watch in my living room with the sound system on and not talking to anyone.

Same, except it’s not a party. It’s more of a film session than a party with my friends who are equally into the game and know ball.

Unless it’s my dad. Only so many more years left on this earth. He’s a major hunter/fisherman and only gets into LSU football to bond with me so I’ll gladly listen to his awful football takes.

I would say yes but only because it’s a good way to hang out with friends, and it makes me less anxious watching the game. I take it way too seriously when I watch games by myself, my heart rate gets way too high lol.

I hate them. I just want to watch the game either by myself or only with other people that care about LSU football as much as I do.

My birthday is always the bama game weekend and my wife every year plans a watch party for it. Nothing worse than getting our teeth kicked in by bama some years on my birthday with Joe blow who watches one game a year trolling me.

We watched the 2011 LSU Auburn game at the camp after a work detail. Probably about 10 guys there and everyone was quiet except for when the big plays happened.

If you’re going to have a watch party, that one was ideal.
