Parties? No. Not at all.

However, I don't mind watching games with a very small group of close friends who I know will be equally focused on watching the game.

quote:

The time before that, it was vs Alabama, forgot what year, but it was going good until one of the women made them put the game on mute right at the end of halftime so everyone could watch her daughter dance to some songs for a performance she had coming up. That took up about half of the third quarter.

If this woman was married, then her husband is an incredible pussy and you should not ever watch another game with him present. NO ONE watching the football game wants to miss half of a quarter to watch someone's kid dance. Total fail by not telling this lady to save that shite until after the game. Especially her husband (if she had one) Or, at least go to another room where the few people who might actually give a damn about the kid's dance can watch it without interrupting the people watching the football game.

If they don’t mind yelling and cursing at the tv at their party, I don’t mind them.

This is what my husband does. He’s convinced the tigers lose anytime he doesn’t watch in the stadium or at home with his best friend.

I don’t like watching at parties b/c i need to be focused to actually watch a game

Really depends on the crowd/house. If its pure people wanting to socialize no... most I've been to have a good mix or people who legit wanna watch and people who will go to other areas to socialize.

Houston alumni association watch parties are pretty fun.

Man I wish. Caddo/Bossier chapter is trash. Went to an alumni association mixer and didnt meet a single alum.... run by tech folk who are LSU fans. Saw chapter leadership at the LSU/tech basketball game at the brookshires arena in Bossier during General Wades first stint....all decked out in red and blue taunting LSU fans when they had the lead. shite has never stopped irking me

I go to a few alumni watch parties here each year.. a lot of the same problems as you.. people who really don't care about the game.

Plus a lot of spouses/friends are UT fans.

I still go a few times per year to see people and hang out but it's not the best scenario for really watching the game.

ETA: Also a handful of boomers who spend the whole time bitching about NIL and the transfer portal. Just as annoying.

Like most said… I much rather watch games alone with some beer in fridge. Only time I can tolerate a gathering is if like-minded people and very few.

I absolutely hate small talking during the game. I dislike being around people who go just to talk mainly women.

The only reason my S/O semi likes LSU football is because of the social aspect though so the fall always brings a few arguments

It’s weird. Watch parties are awesome leading up the the game. Drinking with friends and relatives. Other games in the background. But once LSU kicks off I want to hear the announcers and also be locked in.

In 2026? Here’s my rank order:

1. Watching at home
2. Watching in person
3. Watching at a bar/restaurant w/ my people
4. Watching at a watch party

I much prefer to watch from my home. Either in my living room or if the weather is good, I’ll watch from my pool patio TV. Have a few good drinks and throw meat on the grill. It’s the perfect day for me,

I did when younger. Not really anymore.

Last year I went to a few LSU watch parties because LSU wasn't worth a shite last year so I was okay with not paying attention and socializing. But normally, and in particular this year, I normally just watch with two buddies of mine and we alternate watching at each other's house. Just some beer and some pizza/chicken wings/etc. and pay attention to the game without getting bothered is all I want.

No, I’d rather watch it at home with my immediate family than other folks.

Do what I did. Have them at your house. Cook the food you like. Invite the people you like. Don't invite anyone you don't want around and if they are bringing wives and girlfriends make sure everyone understands this is about football once that game starts. Geaux Tigers or GTFO.

I've had people at my house for almost every game for the last 15 years or so. Same folks. Love it. We all know what we're doing here. It's awesome.
