you can't take a shite outside at Disney World for under $200. Dumbest vacation destination ever in today's society. The 90's were great over there.

Disney is for people to experience with their little kids, once.

If you go back to Disney, you are a sucker.

Its like eating donuts. The 1st one is incredible. Every one after that is a lesson in the law of diminishing returns, ending in misery.

There is a lot better experiences for even or less money to visit all over the country. Expand your horizons.

Far from it, all my children and grandchildren got to go to DW, in retrospect, there were better choices. It would be like going to live in The Villages, it's all fake, ersatz crap.

Fine by me. Poots aren’t going to Disney anyway. It’s nice to guarantee you can ride what you want if you’re willing to put up the extra $20

You’re lookin at about $1000 extra over a 7-day trip for lightning lanes for a family of 4.

Is what it is I guess. Time is money, and some would rather pay to not wait on vacation.

I love walking past the poor bums at Disney and Universal. It’s empowering.

Disney is a Mecca for libs and figs.

I see this sentiment quite often, but when I went, it was 95% conservative looking white families.

A lot of multigenerational groups.

I think a very vocal online minority skews its reputation.

To the OP’s point, the whole experience feels designed to extract as much money from you as possible. Maybe as a kid I was ignorant of that, but it feels different to me.

Nope. But I have noticed the abundance of weirdos and fat people (usually, though not always, the same people)

Spent four days at Disney in late July. I got lightning lane for all four of us, plus paid the single pass for the top rides that aren't included in lightning lane.

Yeah, it was about $500 more but we got to ride everything we wanted twice, plus all the other good rides and skipped the lines in the 105 degree heat. It was worth it.

I'll say this, their customer service is top notch at the parks.

I was expecting a dreadful vacation but I came away really impressed with it and had a blast.

My perspective compared to most is a little different since I'm living in Florida because we can go for the day and we get in-state discounts, but I think Disney gets way too much hate. Its overpriced like anything else nowadays but there are a lot of ways to do it cheaper. Its clean, safe, always have good customer service.

We actually did a Disney cruise recently because we were able to get one at a big discount and it was incredible. I'm not really a big cruise fan but it was one of the better vacations we've ever taken.

I won't pay for lightning lanes because we typically go for the day every now and then since we live in FL, but for someone there that might not ever get to come back I do think its worth it, if not for the whole trip maybe just a park or two. Its not just the lines, its about trying to get to do everything you want to do before you leave. I can just come back in a couple months if I don't ride Guardians, for example (which is awesome, btw). But it might be a once in a lifetime (or once in a decade) type trip for some people.

There is something 100% capitalistic about it. I'm not waiting in line with the poors if I can buy a spot at the front of the line. I'd just rather not go than spend my entire day waiting in a queue.

I guess if you want to spend 5-8k on a vacation to stand in lines 75% of the time, sure.

I'd rather spend a few hundred extra to ride everything multiple times and rarely stand in a line more than 5 minutes.
