Lane Kiffin Calls Alabama The Most Talented Team LSU Has Faced This Season

LSU head coach Lane Kiffin had high praise for Alabama on Monday as the Tigers prepare to host the Crimson Tide in a crucial SEC matchup this Saturday in Tiger Stadium.
Kiffin compared this year's Alabama squad to some of the program's teams of the past, pointing to its overall talent, size, and explosiveness.
“And you see them, and they look like old Alabama teams as far as their size and length and explosiveness, the skill positions on offense and the quarterback,” Kiffin said.
“So we’re going to have to play really well because I do think this is the most talented, when you take the 22—you know, not just the quarterback—this is the most talented team that we’ve played so far.”
Kiffin also praised Alabama's offense, particularly quarterback Keelon Russell and explosive playmakers at receiver like Ryan Coleman-Williams.
"They’ve got really great players on offense. Really explosive, great speed at receiver. The quarterback has played awesome this year and is a problem because he can run the ball, and he can take off and scramble, and he’s an elite thrower, really accurate.
“I think they’re really good regardless. I think Ryan (Coleman-Williams)— obviously adds an explosion to them. But they’ve played really well. I mean, they ran into two great defenses, you know, and didn’t have great numbers those days."
On the other side of the ball, Kiffin highlighted Alabama's defensive front and discipline.
“I think that they’ve got really good defensive linemen. And they’re really smart players. You know, this defense doesn’t make a lot of mistakes, and they play really well together, and they’re coached really well.”
Kickoff from Tiger Stadium is set for 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC.
