I'm never going to have to go to DW again, thank God, they dress it up in pretty language written by the suits, but essentially, if you pay extra, you can skip the line and not have to wait on some popular rides. There is something rotten and undemocratic about this. The poors have to wait longer so the privileged don't have to.

I prefer the Galatoire's model, even the high and mighty have to wait their turn, they can pay a person to wait for them, but wait you must.

Fine by me. Poots aren’t going to Disney anyway. It’s nice to guarantee you can ride what you want if you’re willing to put up the extra $20

Then Lightening Lanes go up in price

This is a perfect example of supply and demand curve

I don’t think you can even get tap water for $20 at Disney.

They have free water refill stations if you bring your own water bottle. They also let you bring in your own food and water. Most parks don't do that.

I can assure you that the rich getting benefits exists in all forms of government, not just democracy, so your point is entirely moot.

Last time we went to Disney we got the tour.

Faster than lightning pass. Skip all the poor lighting people too.

Think the fast passes allow one skip per hour, and lightning lanes let you pay a fee for each additional skip.

You can also buy the concierge service where an employee personally escorts you throughout the park.

So we went to Disney two years ago. 7 days in Orlando, 3 park days, 2 resort days at Wilderness Lodge. Lightening lanes for all three days spread over all 4 parks. We went at end of September to avoid crowds and hope for cooler weather (we got neither).

For the same cost (rental car, meals, excursions, lodging), last summer over a two weeks vacation we flew into Denver from NYC, did Rocky Mountain National Park while staying at a luxury ranch nearby (lots of horseback riding), did the drive through Lander, WY, to Yellowstone, stayed in the park, and then spent the remainder of the two weeks in Jackson WY while spending time at the Grand Tetons (with excursions to Jenny Lake and fly fishing), and flew out of Salt Lake City.

I'll let you decide which trip we liked better.

The problem isn't that Disney is stupid expensive (it is), it simply can't compete for the same value on the same dollar over the same time frame with better experiences.

ETA: find better places to spend your money.
