I guess if you want to spend 5-8k on a vacation to stand in lines 75% of the time, sure.

Doesn't happen.

I'd rather spend a few hundred extra to ride everything multiple times and rarely stand in a line more than 5 minutes.

With just a moderate amount of planning, you rarely stand in a line for longer than this if you don't pay for the lightning lanes.

Just got off our 3rd DCL trip. Absolutely love them.

Why lie? You can look up standby wait times any time you want. The only planning you can do to minimize a standby line is rope dropping, but that will only help you for one ride. LLs will save you several hours of waiting in line every day. All of the big rides rarely drop below 45 minutes and the biggest rides will always be over an hour for standby. I will gladly pay $200 for a family of 4 to save 3+ hours of standing in line.

I'm never going to have to go to DW again

I went to DW in 3rd grade. I think my parents felt like they had to bring me because they brought my siblings, who are 10 and 11 years older than me, when they were young.

My pops thought DW was a scam and when we had to go into shops to get to somewhere else he made me close my eyes. He told me later on in life that he did that so I wouldn't start begging for some useless stuffed animal that was overpriced.

If people enjoy DW then good for them, but there was a time in my life where I thought DW was for mostly women & feminine males.

Not lying. I go to Disney frequently. Lightning Lanes are a scam.

Well there are 2 things wrong with this statement.

1. Rope dropping can help you with multiple rides if you don't join the sheep who are all running to the exact same ride you are.
2. This isn't the only thing you can do to minimize standby wait times.

You'll probably need to walk more than you likely want, but skipping rides when they're at their peak wait times is always the way to go, even with a lightning lane. If you and I started our days in the parks at the exact same time, you with LL and me without, I'd end up doing more than you did in that day.

You are the problem.

Being realistic about wait times is the problem? Ok

Tell me which rides you are going to consistently get 5 minute standby times for.

frick that…I like the lightening lanes, I’m not waiting in line for 3 hours with the poors. Basic capitalism.

You sound like a commie

If you and I started our day at the same time at any Disney park, you with LL and me without, I would get more done than you in that day. Every time.

Has…you are poor and whiney AF

I’m paying it, I don’t care. Last time we went I spent extra 1000 on lightening lanes, made the trip so much better, more than worth it

Consider that LL may be a tool for people who aren’t Disney obsessed and have no desire to make Disney a hobby in life

I'll take some of whatever drugs you're on. You don't need LLs to enjoy Disney, but you literally will not ride more rides than someone that has them unless they don't know how to use them.

In MK for example, standby Tron and Peter Pan alone will eat up any time you think you can save vs LLs. Add in Seven Dwarfs and Tiana, and what you're claiming is just bullshite

Am neither of these things. Poor people waste money on things like Lightning Lanes. That's why they're poor.

Oh no doubt. It is a scam that preys on these people. The difference is that they get angry when you point it out to them, and refuse to listen to people who know better than them.

Don't think you know what this word means.

But please, explain your strategy for the day at say MK.

we take all the kids in our family everywhere including through the gift shops. Begging will get you a fun trip back to the hotel for a nap. Or you can stop asking and do all the fun things all day. It takes kids 5.2 seconds to decide which one is more fun and begging is never an issue again. We focus and hype up the fun and carrying merch just slows you down the kids are not aware that sending it to the room is an option.

This is comically dumb or trigger bait. He is talking about early being in a line more than 5 min.

I bought the premium pass thing so full lighting pass for two days and then didn’t have the third day. My enjoyment with those pass was so much better. No walking around on my phone planning and convincing my family to do certain things and certain times. Walking around a park on your phone trying to maximize wait times isn’t a vacation. Also, I can’t stand everyone walking around just looking down at their phones.

Fat kid is a phone walker and needs to be shamed.

Your premise is not wrong, but you are overselling it. You're not consistently getting on rides in under 15 minutes from 10am until 7pm in any of the parks. For a family of four that wants to go to Magic Kingdom and ride: Space Mountain, Tron, Peter Pan, Haunted Mansion, Seven Dwarfs, Jungle Cruise, Pirates, Tiana's without a LL, they are going to have to rope drop Tron or Seven Dwarfs, hope to catch the others at 45 min standby or less, and knock out Space Mountain, Tron, or Seven Dwarfs during the fireworks show. It's doable, but LL makes is significantly easier.

THIS! At Disney I spent the entire week on my f’n phone. Six Flags we just strolled around stress free and the kids still got to ride everything. And much cheaper obviously. It’s a no brainer.
