East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome announced Monday a meeting to be held with BRPD Chief Murphy Paul, faith-based leaders, and law enforcement partners to discuss a recent string of violent shootings.

The meeting will be held Tuesday, July 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the main library on Goodwood Boulevard. Mayor Broome says she’s calling on people from all walks of life to attend the meeting and discuss gun violence prevention.

Will any statues be attending?

Because instead of actually doing things to crack down on the recent violence, she decides to host a meeting.

Exactly

That’s why I asked you why are you upset today. Today is just like every other day.

Probably should have clarified. Days like today when they publicly display their incompetence motivate me to run.

My post history...de-motivates me, however.

Not saying it's a good look just that this is nothing new. BR has had a high murder rate since the 1990s. This is essentially the status quo of the past 30 years.

Actually the rates have increased since Kip’s last year 2016. Now I can’t say if Kip’s other years were better or worse than what we see now.

The BRAVE program was working, so Mayor-President Broome dismantled it.
As someone who was arrested by the BRAVE team, I can confirm this.

I can also confirm that the criminals have loved what Broome has (hasn't) done so far.

I'm very thankful I've turned my life around.

Topics they will bring up that have little to do with anything about shootings:

A. Food deserts

It's the lack of access to fresh fruits and vegetables causing all these poor people to do violence.

Who do they like better, the mayor who looks the other way or the judge that gives them a free pass?

If BRPD had the numbers, a marked car would have been in that club's stupid parking lot. Most bars and clubs back in the day had them.

Wendy's became that place.

BR city leaders to get tough on recent shootings

How about outlawing shitty rap music, - you know the kind where every 18 year old black male thinks he has a chance to get rich doing.

Then outlaw the right to carry firearms inside the city limits and make it a stuff penalty if caught (talking 5 years first offense). Every one of these losers is "strapped" and these guns do nothing but encourage these retards to get into "Biggie/Tupac" style gang rivalries and open fire in a nightclub if a rival "disses" them. So fricking imbecilic and childish.

Where are the sane black ppl at? Does this shite not make you kinda embarrassed?

This will just disarm law abiding citizens. How about we stiffen the penalties for possession of a stolen firearm which most of these crimes are committed with?

Meanwhile, our countries democrats are wanting to invest money in illegal immigrants that’s going to exasperate social problems instead of investing into issues like this in our own country.

Here’s the meeting handout on the mayor’s “Give Peace a Chance” strategy.
It’s like the OT knew what it would be: https://twitter.com/grace_2e/status/1146192832664866816?s=21
