So, how did the meeting go? Hopefully SWB decided that a focus group would be formed to discuss this further.

She has hired a study group for 300K who plan to look at the data and get back to her in December.

I read on WAFB briefly she said BR is not Gotham City...
Well, Gotham City would be am improvement imo...Didn't see where they offered solutions...Typical BS rhetoric from the racist Mayor and do nothing Chief

I listened to most of the meeting on the stream. There was a lot less kicking the can down the road from the people in attendance than I expected. They brought up some hard truths about father-less households, illiteracy, etc. I respect the hell out of the folks that showed up and got up an spoke. They really seem to want a change, but how do you reach the ones that don't?
There are two distinct problems.
One is a social problem involving morals, the gang culture, families and economics.
The other is what’s the role of local government in providing for public safety.
The mayor from what I can see believes it’s her job to address the first problem which will lead to a better community, but she doesn’t seem to believe in addressing what she was hired to address, public safety.
Government spends too much time and money now with hand outs, social engineering, and trying to take care of folks from cradle to grave that we have created entire neighborhoods dependent on government to do everything for them. The results give us blight, the drug culture, and dysfunctional families.
The discussions about social problems are fine, but Broome’s job is to provide for law and order and without a motivated, well trained and well staffed police force she isn’t going to do squat to bring order to BR. People want action and not a sermon.
Reality is nothing is going to change, the thugs are running rampant and the mayor is not going to do anything about it. She believes it’s just bad timing.

Broome started by undermining the old police chief and forced him to resign. She hasn’t back the cops and in year three she hasn’t done anything to bring the force’s numbers up.
