re: Not only are corporations not pursuing thieves anymore, they are downright refusing - Bedhog
[quote]My BIL worked at Lowes for a while and told me they were told not to pursue thieves outside the store, and to just let them go. [quote]I had a friend who was an assistant at the HD in Lafayette. We had worked together an another do it yourself type store when I was in college. They definitely do not want their employees (other than security personnel in some areas) trying to apprehend shoplifters. The risk to the average emp...

[quote]I was a retail store manager when I was in college, so I can chime in on this. It’s all about Liability. Guys steals something. Store worker runs after them, gets into a confrontation, slips and falls, etc etc and gets hurt.... The store is now liable for his/her injury. (For not ...

re: medium sized SUV recommendation - Bedhog
I'ma tell you what. Kia has a new small SUV Hybrid called the Niro that can be ran on just electric when you want to for like 27 miles. Combined with the gas motor it will do over 250 miles. That's what hybrids have been missing , being able to select if you want to only run on EV. For most peop...

I don't think this can even be considered shoplifting anymore. They need a new category for this. Back in the day when I used to shoplift I tried to hide it....

[quote] It’s not hard to understand that a company risks far more than the cost of a Dewalt saw if any employee is hurt. Better to just let the thief go than to risk litigation. Not only are corporations not pursuing thieves anymore, they are downright refusing - Bedhog
to prosecute them as well. Denham Springs home depot had a guy run out with a brand new dewalt miter saw. Employees really didn't give much chase.. Patron in the parking lot took the bag off his vehicle hiding his license plate and snapped a pic. Took it to the manager and was told they do not c...

re: Wiring a shed for a 220v 170 amp welder - Bedhog
[quote]The shed should have had its own sub panel from the beginning if it has power currently. It is a separate structure and has a few requirements as such from the NEC (National Electric Code). One of which is you have to have a circuit disconnect at that building. If you already have a circuit r...

re: Wiring a shed for a 220v 170 amp welder - Bedhog
I wasn't planning on putting a sub panel in the shed. Seems kinda overkill for what I'm wanting. I have a drill press, some saws and will every once in a while be running the welder. Was just going to branch off the 220 socket with a run of 12 2 romex for the other 110 outlets....
