Marsh and near shore saltwater fishing is unparalleled. Louisiana used to have the best waterfowling in the world until the ducks stopped wintering here for several reasons, some of them man-made. Bass fishing and deer hunting are alright, but not up to the level of some of the states listed above.

I’m currently living in WA, and will be for at least 6 months.
I f’n love it, but still have a home in NOLA. This board shits on LA, but there is a lot I miss about it. The uniqueness, food, music, art, architecture, and people of south LA are unrivaled.

LA/New Orleans is better living than most places in the world. And is not close. I have first-hand experience with some far reaching places in the world to know. And know many people who agree in the in-between places of the world.

The response seems to be a direct reflection of what Louisiana people think of when they hear/read the phrase “Natural Environment”
People generally don’t live in wetlands and forests. The ranking is about pollution and air&water quality that affects people where they “live”.
The article identifies some of the data influencing the ranking includes drinking water violations that exceed the national average and industrial toxins that FAR exceed exceed the national average (2,944 pounds per square mile, compared to the national average of 930).

I don't know much about hunting but I don't see it as a great hunting state from my POV.
