It’s been revelatory.

One thing I started doing to replace the addictive properties of alcohol

Is writing a recollection or memoirs of all my drunken years as a way to exorcise some demons and find complete closure.

What’s sad is how many of those years are filled w blackout gaps for periods of time unaccounted for.

The other helpful thing was moving away from New Orleans. I had to retire from the eternal party. It’s way easier to remain sober in a place like Utah.
