TRUMP the Game. Seriously, we used to play it all the time in college, and it was a blast.

Sequence and make a special custom board….
It’s played with cards and poker chips.

You're right about making your own board. The stock board sucks because the cards are way more random on the board so they're harder to find, slows game play down. Plus the cards on the stock board are rectangle so it's not symetrical.

The GOAT…

I could frick the world up playing Germany and make that arse quit. Then the later editions modified the rules.

This is a good list. Speaking on Betrayal, we like Dead of Winter. The idea during the entire time that one of you may be betraying the group is a fun aspect.

For a long game? Risk.

Short game? Yahtzee.

Get drunk and make absurdly rude comments about people who aren't around? Game of Things

Ticket to Ride is good for pretty much all ages.

My 7yo was whipping our arse, but didn't connect one piece of her route, so she missed out on the longest route bonus and lost to me by a few points.

Catan and Ticket to Ride are personal favorites.

Cards Against Humanity is fun with the right group of people (don't play it with your kids or your parents.)

Monopoly is usually good for starting a fight.

Chess is the GOAT board game

I enjoy Scattergories, Bananagrams, Scrabble, Mexican Train Dominoes.

Risk and Monopoly always come up as some of the GOATs, I just didn’t grow up playing them. I grew up in a card-playing house. Need to try these two.

This.

We have been playing a lot lately. It's a good mix of strategy, intelligence, and luck.

If we are drinking... Cards Against Humanity still rules.
