Idaho Falls is culinarily unimpressive, but be sure to eat the nation’s second best potato that is grown there locally. The Snake River Plain is the nation’s leading potato producer, and second for yield per acre and quality behind Washington’s Columbia Basin.

Sadly the best food options anywhere in the area are on the slopes of the Tetons.

KKKars 4 KKKids is still spreading their evil jingle across the airwaves. I change the radio or XM station as soon as I hear the ad. I am about ready to contact the station and their advertisers to tell them that they lose listeners every time they play that evil and any sponsor who has an ad following theirs is getting ripped off.

Not being mean, but explain to me why taxpayers across the country should pay billions for a 50 year old project in the 133th largest metro area in the country to improve a highway to save a few people maybe, hopefully 5-7 minutes going through the area. Its not like congestion is stifling the region, although I get the annoyance.

That gap is part of a highway system, one that should eventually link Kansas City and New Orleans. It’s totally a national issue.

Or, hear me out. KD could have earned his own legacy by taking his to and winning the title had he stayed

OKC shouldn’t have any major sports teams. DEAD LAST in NBA attendance just a few years ago. Durant salvaged his legacy by fleeing that tiny shite hole, tornado ravaged, trailer park.

I’ve been to tours at 4, and want to go back and do more.

Make sure to book tours well in advance. Buffalo Trace in Frankfort is the toughest to book. I wasn’t able to get a tour, but still visited. A very long line to get in…

In the Lexington area, I visited Woodford Reserve, Castle & Key, and Wild Turkey. I highly recommended all three. Woodford Reserve is a good one to do in the morning while, Castle & Key along the stream is great for an afternoon visit.

There are a few others in the Lexington area I need to back and visit. I really should have booked more than I did.

I also visited Makers Mark, but it is a ways away from Lexington. It is great too.

Also, go to the Fall Meet at Keeneland. It runs through October.

Carolina used to be Falcons country until the Panthers came along

Actually it was big time Redskins country.
If Bulls, why not build the ballpark in Durham and promote the Durham Bulls to MLB? It’s a cool, established brand. Could be like the Packers of MLB, despite the city being a major player in the fast growing Triangle metro area.

Fun Carolina / MLB acquisition trivia:

In 1998, the Minnesota Twins looked at (or used as leverage for a new ballpark) relocating to the Carolinas with Kernersville, NC being the destination city. Kernersville is located between Winston-Salem and Greensboro.

If MLB expands and adds a team, where should they put it in your opinion?

Portland, Salt Lake City, Austin, Nashville, and either Charlotte or Raleigh. Moving the White Sox to Charlotte makes sense.

Seattle metropolitan is 4x the size of Raleigh metropolitan. They had 1 million at their victory parade for America’s most popular sport. Raleigh, 1/4 of the size, had 150k for America’s 4th most popular sport. I’d say it’s fairly proportional.

What about OKC, which is smaller than the Triangle?
I’ll quickly look at the # of stars it has on Apple Maps. Anything over 4 is good. I travel a lot, and stick to certain hotel chains. I typically focus on an area, compare prices, then lastly check the rating before pulling the trigger. I usually select Hilton or Marriott properties first due to rewards status. Typically Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, etc. After those, Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Inn, and La Quinta with high ratings. IHG is usually good, Choice is all over the place, but they brand their quality tiers with different names, with Comfort being at the nice end. Wyndham can be sketchy, but the newer La Quintas seem to be solid.

They just had over 100k show up in downtown Raleigh for the Hurricanes Stanley Cup parade this morning.

That a lousy figure.

Knicks ‘26 - 2,000,000
Seahawks’26 - 1,000,000
Thunder ‘25 - 500,000
Panthers ‘25 - 400,000
Dodgers ‘25 - 250,000
Hit Sleeping Bear Dunes on way up. Lots of cool towns along Lake Michigan between there and Mackinaw City.

On the UP:

- Soo Locks
- Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum at Whitefish Point
- Tahquamenon Falls
- eat pasties

The Ark is 200 miles away from Bowling Green. It’s located between Cincinnati and Lexington.

It has been a regular in the top 25 intl. list for over 20 years. I’m surprised they made a jump to 12.
