The problem at least with reviewing fouls is the constant replaying of it in slow motion. Almost every challenge looks worse in slow motion.

It’s pretty simple. No part of your body (that’s capable of playing the ball - so hands and arms don’t count) can be past the last defender when the pass is made towards you.

It’s also not offside if the player with the ball passes it backwards.

People hate VAR (sometimes for good reason like with Balogun) but I don’t see any problem with it for offside. You have to draw the line somewhere. Any attempt at changing it or “giving a cushion” to the attacker is just going to move the line that VAR is looking at. You’ll always have marginal offside calls.
