Sorry to ruin your boner, but ACC and Big 12 will come running to take a top tier athletic program. LSU, A&M, etc.. Every year they are hanging by a thread to avoid losing their current team.

Terrible advice if the kid has drive. Give me the ability to actually climb a corporate ladder/company and make real money. 10 years in public service and sure, remaining loans can be paid off. But making $70k a year after 10 years? And then no useable experience to translate to the private sector? It's a waste.

Nothing too bad. Estimator and cost control manager client side on a multi billion dollar hospitality project. Had better results than all my counterparts. Was promised the moon and more when that project was over and going into the next ones. Boss had treated me well before so I trusted him and turned down some very good offers.


Well, boss man got a big ole promotion and forgot the people who got the results he claimed. New boss man was in our core unit and had more seniority by a good amount of years, so understandable. Except he is a terrible leader. Option A, B, and C for me fell through for me. I eventually got an offer to lead a division….having the same title and less pay for those who would report to me. And when I said no, I got labeled as not being a team player by that original boss and now almost blacklisted from other opportunities in the company.

Lesson learned I guess.

Isn’t there no real penalty for going over the salary cap? Essentially pay small fine and that’s it?

Getting rid of the draft sounds interesting, but I think you’d need a very enforceable salary cap. If not then you’re looking at teams with money staying stacked while small market teams not being able to compete. Get rid of those special rules that allow you to be over.
