Another vote for risk, but…

If your goal is good family time, risk has a tendency to destroy that.

And, very timely, Ukraine is a bear to hold.

I’m obsessed with Stratego right now. It’s a pretty straightforward strategy game. It’s not very popular in the states though.

It was huge when I as a kid in late 80’s early 90’s. One of my screwball strategies that I could occasionally pull off was to hide my flag behind one of the two ponds at front line.

That’s the only episode I’ve seen. I’m a fan of Trey Parker’s work, so that was why I watched. I haven’t played much other than the mainstream games, which are getting stale. I’ve bought a couple ones he mentioned since for the off the grid cabin.

Risk Legacy would be a good option for this then.

This is a good list. Speaking on Betrayal, we like Dead of Winter. The idea during the entire time that one of you may be betraying the group is a fun aspect

I liked it, but it's super dark and is better for a friend group than a family...

Shadows Over Camelot or even Battlestar Galactica are probably a little more family friendly.

Eta: not sure if getting arse-raped by bums is actually darker than getting thrown out the airlock, but...ehhh

Big Settlers of Catan fan. Expansion packs are fun too. Start basic and build from there.
