Anyone consider buying an electric vehicle when they were previously averse to it?

I’m considering a model x or any other recommended electric SUV but have zero experience with them. We still have the suburban and an SUV. But I’m looking g for a daily.
Have three kids and would want to fit them in a third row.
What are the pros and cons?
What is repair like for a 2022 or newer EV?
What manufacturers do you consider?

I have though the idea as dumb, and will never buy electric - as long as gas powered engines exist, that is what I will drive

I know a baw in the oil industry. He has 2 for him and his wife. He loves them. Especially the FSD.

Not having to go to gas stations is pretty sweet. So is full self drive

Maintenance is minimal. My wife’s model 3 has had the tires changed at 25k and that’s it besides a brake fluid test and cabin air filters.

Why would the nationwide thing matter when you're only going Uptown?

EV makes sense as a work commuter, doesn't make sense as the family SUV you take on trips at this time

We got rained out golfing Friday afternoon so I'm sitting at the front of the club house waiting for my son to turn the cart in, there's a line of cars but a little room for a car to get by.
Here comes a Tesla (with no driver or passenger) pulls right up to the front door, a family runs out and jumps in then takes off.
I told my kid I wanted one, his remark: "doesn't seem to fit you".

Fine for a commuter vehicle. Wouldn't take one on any distance trip

Recently got a 26 Model Y Premium RWD
I'll likely never own a non-self driving vehicle.
The electric component is convenient, but not was sold me on the vehicle. But the things that are benefit of an electric car including very low maintence (no pads or rotors ever need to be changed, etc.) incredible torque, etc.
FSD is a life changer, is the future 100%, and the future has arrived.

Indeed. The role reversal has been pretty amusing. Especially out on the left coats with all the “I bought this before he was terrible” bumper stickers.

Plug in hybrids are kinda meh and are a bad compromise between EVs and regenerative hybrids, in my opinion.
