I didn't call Rihanna a band. My point was that a dude as good as Nuno doesn't have an issue playing for her because he's a professional musician, like so many others that play on stage or in the studio.
All bands and musical acts are contrived. Kiss, Alice Cooper, Maiden, Floyd, etc.
What do you expect from metal fans? They owe you nothing as fans or spectators.

I get the comparison, I'm just making jokes. But I don't see your quibble as being that big of a deal. They're a manufactured act in some fashion, so what? Bands and musical acts have always had some behind the scenes machinations, and/or a certain formula for airplay and success. Session musicians aren't a big deal, either. Everyone uses session players, from Motown on down. With Babymetal, the girls sing and dance with a backing band on stage. Like countless musical acts have done for eons. Nuno is in Rihanna's touring band, has been for years.
This goes hard.

It's so formulaic, there's no other band like them. One of the original girls left and was eventually replaced. She was one of the dancer/background vocal girls. The main vocalist, Su-metal, has some pipes. They're coming near me in September, I might still buy a ticket. Might go see Billy Idol, too, just because.
