Yep. After driving my buddy's tesla with FSD, I'm sold. I might even consider an ugly arse cybertruck. Nah, nevermind I just can't. They're just too ugly. I'll probably keep my ICE truck for utility purposes and long trips and get a tesla for my daily driver. Tesla is a cut above every other car I've ever driven. They're just nicer in every way I can think of. Smooth, sleek, powerful, fast, comfortable, options/amenities.... You name it and Tesla does it better. Literally better in every way compared to similarly priced competition (and even more expensive competition)
Ideally I would like to have a hybrid full size truck for the fuel economy but they don't make those yet. I know Tundra has some kind of battery power but I'm talking about a 40+ mpg hybrid truck. If I could have one with similar capability to my F-150 but get 40+ mpg I would buy that tomorrow.

I have a 2026 Kia EV 9 light long range. Third row is very comfortable. 350 miles of range. NACS charge port and it charges very quickly at Tesla Superchargers. The cargo area is a bit small with the third row up.
I do rideshare with this car and won't go back to gasoline.

For TN to "assume" i was getting the benefit of $300 of gas tax dollars...oh that fricking pissed me off. no way i was coming anywhere near that amount in gas taxes even with my gas guzzling 4runner.

was opposed, wife wanted one…test drove the Y with the performance package and thought damn this is fun.
once you get used to the conveniences of a Tesla it makes driving non Tesla cars feel very old, annoying and dated. It’s hard to explain but the digital keys, the controls, the self drive and advanced autopilot, the different modes, the Netflix/Youtube for the kids, the front trunk and back trunk space, the constant UX/UI updates and improvements, not going to gas stations or oil changes, the ease of planning road trips because the whole thing is timed/mapped out for you…could go on and on.
now I roll my eyes when I read the negative Tesla hit piece stories because you can tell it’s from people who never drive them.
now obviously it makes sense for us based on family size, having a charger at our house, and not commuting long distances often. we have a second suv that barely gets driven and we thought we would use for road trips but we still end up using the Tesla almost every time because of FSD and the ease and fun of driving it

I'm considering it. Not because I believe in global warming or whatever bs the Earth huggers believe. I want a Tesla because it's light years ahead of any other vehicle when it comes to actually being useful.
FSD: I'm usually my family's FSD. I wouldn't mind letting the car drive and take some stress off me. I'm not looking at making a robotaxi or creating a parking test for it, but driving on the road, it's great.
The distance thing isn't as concerning anymore. We are usually trying to stop after 2.5 hrs on the road anyway and by the time you plug in and juice up, you're done with the bathroom and stretched and have a snack. 15m isn't an incredibly long time and my legs swell if I don't take breaks to move around.The tesla charger network is pretty extensive and also allows you to monitor access before you get there.
Or I might hate it. I really wish there was a Toyota hybrid Camry that had this technology in it, but that's not where we are.

Tesla Model Y L is the EV to get. Not sure about the 60K+ price tag for or the third row though.

I was looking for a Toyota Forerunner last year when I decided on the Tesla Model Y. I have a Nissan Xterra that I love that has about 220k miles that I needed to replace. I just could not find a forerunner that I liked and I could not justify the asking price. I decided I would get a Tesla and keep the X. I have not driven my X in 4-5 months. The Model Y is absolutely incredible. The FSD is unbelievable. I get in the my car in the morning and push one button and I just sit back and relax until I get to the office. It's the same thing when I head home after work.
There is a reason the Model Y is one of the best selling cars and that trent will not change anytime soon.
