Who cares?
The NFL is probably about 75% black anyways, so does it matter that about 75% of the commercials feature black actors?

How the frick does this rate a sticky?
I thought it was weird, but after thinking it over, it makes sense.
“There are too many black/gay folks in commercials” is a topic that is frequently discussed here.

Why isn't America up in arms about how we have zero Asian coaches in the NFL, one (kinda) Latino coach? Surely, since it's such a HUGE deal to have a black coach that they create a RULE for it, they could be even a little bit upset about others races not being represented?
Personally IDGAF if the coach is blue. Hire the best man for the job. Why does a portion of the coaches HAVE to be black, or any other race for that matter?

From the other thread
Don’t obfuscate. Outside some small minority, I seriously doubt that most “people who have no color” care that people of a darker hue, who they work with, interact with and live besides in relative peace appear on a screen.
What might irk people is the media acting like people of a certain hue matter more than all the rest and over correcting, and blatantly doing it. The “we’re so oppressed” angle is wearing thin when you have a field full of players where a plurality are black, a halftime stage full of almost exclusively dark skinned people, making hundreds of millions of dollars, and then trying to play the victim angle.
To me, this picture sums up the problem most evil white devil cracker honkies have.
You don’t get to take credit for EVERYTHING good, and then blame EVERYTHING bad on other people just because of the color they were born. While completely ignoring the fact that it’s blatantly untrue.
That dog don’t hunt.
I have worked with people of every stripe, creed and hue. Broken bread with them. Laughed with them. Cried with them. And not once was the amount of melanin in our skin the reason I felt those emotions.
It’s because they were PEOPLE with shared experiences.
So if that makes me racist, fine. Call me racist.
Call me the most racist arse peckerwood round eye ofay motherfricker on the planet. It doesn’t mean a thing to me. The word has no sting. It’s as meaningless as any other unfounded insult.
I didn’t choose to be born who I am any more than any other man does. I live the life I have and play the cards I’m dealt, same as any other. If I fail it’s on me. Not the latitude some distant ancestors were born at.
I’ll sleep at night just fine.

I was obviously commenting on the number of posts with people complaining about black people being on their tv screens. No one, including you, actually believes the op was a racist statement castigating the white race. It’s just another tired diversion tactic
