You will be fine there. Everything within a 3 block radius is an airbnb and you are a block from St Charles. About 3 blocks behind you it gets rough, but you would have no reason to walk that way anyway.

This thread is making me feel fat.

Three kids and we go shopping about once every two weeks. For snacks, we typically buy lots of fruit, a box of goldfish, one family size bag of chips (switch up the types, but usually tortilla chips or BBQ lays), cheese and crackers, Greek yogurt, pirates' booty, and usually one cookie or chocolate snack.

I am gently* considering road tripping to Montana for our summer vacation. We have been to Wyoming/Montana a bunch, but always fly. Family of 5 with 3 kids, but all very well traveled. Is this just a terrible idea?

It is the same price to rent a large SUV here and return there, as it is to rent one there for the duration. We would fly home, but gas there would be cheaper than the 5 flights there.

Looking for recommendation for 3 stops along the way that involve really nice resorts or unique stops that would make this type of trip worth while. Off of the top of my head, I was thinking Dallas, Santa Fe and Steamboat Springs, but I’m open to all suggestions or routes.

I wouldn't be so sure. The MS store is only an hour from the Loxley store, and it has become one of the busiest stores in the country after having a full year under their belts. The 10 is a beast.

Kentucky is working on their third store and then there will be 3 all pretty close to one another in smaller towns.

That would make sense. Not much on the big stretch of I12.

I also think one coming from Baton Rouge into New Orleans would do ok. Either right before or right after that dead zone where there are no stations.

It depends on what you want out of it. 5 days was the perfect amount for me, and I could have stayed longer. Naxos and Paros are definitely relaxation islands, meaning there is not a ton to do, but what an amazing place to sit on a gorgeous beach, eat food, talk to wonderful locals and just hang out. Those two are pretty similar.

You could spend a day chartering a boat around the island to some beaches only accessible via boat.

One of the 5 days taking a ferry and doing a daytrip to Santorini or another nearby island.

Then just relax and explore Paros the rest of the time.

I agree with Capital Tiger - take them while they are young and keep going.

We have been doing national parks and international trips since our kids were tots, and they are extremely easy and fun to travel with because of introducing them young. If you wait until your kids are teenagers to do this kind of travel, you have a lot of catching up to do in a short amount of time. The world is a huge and amazing place - experience it together for as long as you can. Even if they won't remember it, you will cherish the memories.

Bozeman is a little too far away to enjoy the park. A "Cruise America" RV would be a good idea. Your kids will probably enjoy having a house on wheels, and that way you can hit a few spots around the park. Book your campgrounds early if you do this. Get the compact one so it is easy to drive and park at trailheads. Wake up early and beat the crowds to the big sites.

We have camped in the park before and recommend Madison and Canyon in Yellowstone as well as Colter Bay in the Tetons.

Let Downs:
1) Vancouver - While the West End and Park were absolutely gorgeous, the city felt dead and overrun with drugs/homeless while we were there.
2) Milan - Just not for me. Prefer so many other European cities
