I'm glad they kind of fast tracked the Mark thing.

The show does a good job with pacing. Some of the storylines in the comic dragged on but that was mostly in the middle part of the series. So that bodes well for the show going forward

Funny how Downs never shared these sentiments.

Not saying money didn’t play a factor for his decision but Downs still likes Bama. I remember going all RTR for Bama against Indiana. Was a no brainer for him

Many of the rest of these guys are/were purely chasing the bag which is understandable to some extent but they have no love for the program

How could you even jokingly say that about your spouse on national tv?

These economic and happiness measures and indexes usually are invented by someone in Europe. Basically they always say everyone else in the world is shite besides them (mainly Western Europe and Scandinavian nations)

Is it so she can get Alex to bring her son back through time travel?

I don’t think she expected to see him again. The whole purpose of Alex was to stop everything from happening. The discrepancies were a side effect

I think she’s a “by any means necessary” control freak and any potential threat to the bunker (and to extension) Alex had to be put down
So the cease fire didn’t actually happen? I knew one of them would violate it but didn’t expect to be within hours

This new generation of gamers are some of the sweatiest, most try hard players in existence.

A sizable chunk of them are kids thinking they can make a career in ESports and/or become famous streamers. Kind of like the gaming version of travel ball

All it would take is to accept enough students to medical school to fill our neeeds.

The amount of medical students is at an all time high. That’s not the problem. Nor is the main problem residency spots though it does contribute.

The shortage is in speciality and distribution. Speciality being primary care and distribution being smaller cities or towns. For example, family medicine increased the amount total residency spots and yet they had a high rate of unfilled positions. Why? Because lots of medical students don’t want to do family medicine. Lots of people also don’t want to practice medicine in rural areas or even small cities sometimes. Even though the Drs in those places have much more disposable income and get paid more.

I’ve seen so many old photos and videos (even if unedited) get called “AI”. Of course some are trolls but I’m sure some of them aren’t

I saw Dr. Mohan is not returning for S3..

Makes sense with how they’re setting up her character. Her replacement is that night shift resident we saw once

how much autonomy they give medical students

Well in this show med students act like mid year interns and brand new interns act like 2nd year residents. But a med student following around the attending 70% of the time while getting half the pimp questions wrong wouldn’t be as interesting
Not this one obviously but I’m sure that guy has gotten some threats with video topics he covers

Several others have become literate in spite of being deaf and blind from birth and near birth.

One of the theories I saw regarding her was not that she wasn’t fully deaf or blind and still aware and intelligent, but more so her work was heavily influenced and edited by Sullivan and her husband. To the extent it was as much their work as it was hers and they used her fame to their benefits in publicizing the literature.

This theory brought up the fact that others have overcome being deaf and blind as one of their arguments because those people weren’t (supposedly) quite as impressive as what they produced in works. Also Keller stopped the political (strongly socialist) literature once Sullivan died and she got a new caretaker. But of course Keller herself was 68 at that point and published more tame stuff

I don’t know how much of that is true but it’s very possible Sullivan’s views strongly influenced and directed Keller’s work

Never understood why their metrics were ever taken serious.

I think NFL teams will take any (what they deem) legit critique they can get.

PFF has taken a hit among fans, but originally people liked it because a lot of fans like to argue on player rankings and player A being better compared to player B followed with eloquent thoughts such as “he clears” or “it’s not even close”

This is a level 1 trauma center in a large ish city. You’re telling me there is one attending?? The rest of the staff are second and third years? And students ON THEIR FIRST day??

All this is probably the most unrealistic thing about the show to me. Even the smaller ERs I’ve been in have had like 3 attendings. And this is supposed to be a massive ER at a teaching hospital.

I’ve been around some medical students that were much smarter than I was as one, but some of these people are 3rd years doing their first EM rotation (or visiting 4th year on his first day at a new hospital) and know so much with so many responsibilities (led to Oglivie’s misreading on the ultrasound). But I guess saying “I’m not sure” or “I’ll look it up and get back to you” isn’t so entertaining

What with all the underhanded windups only to throw overhand?

Feels like they’re trying to emulate the pitching they do in cricket. But those people look like they would suck at doing in it a cricket game too

Here in the US, because of baseball and football, a lot of people do know how to throw. So it’s kind of crazy to think there’s not some sport on par with soccer globally which features throwing. Especially considering how extremely relevant throwing (rocks and spears) has been throughout human history

How many Indians play basketball? lol.

Yeah even if he was 1/4 Indian someone would’ve found out for sure and made it into a story because good Indian basketball players don’t really exist
