I’m all for 2A and responsible gun ownership.
Legally buying a gun for your child does not equal 2nd Degree Murder in Georgia. The jury got it wrong. There's other charges you or I could argue that the father should be charged with, but 2nd degree murder has a definition, a legal definition. Buying a gun for your son who then commits murder with it does not meet that legal description. Not in Georgia. That trial should have been moved somewhere else. Guy is facing over a 100 years in prison.

Yikes. I don't know anything about this case, but a century in prison (basically a death sentence for the father) for legally buying a gun later used by a child in a crime, regardless of how terrible, is not appropriate unless he had foreknowledge imo.

He was laughing during a victim’s impact statement. Kid’s evil.
Sounds way more evil than it actually was. The whole court started laughing because the judge told the victim to slow down because she was talking too fast.
Not defending the guy at all, but I envisioned something entirely different when I read he started laughing at victim.

You know what that sentence is called? A deterrent. And I approve.

putting him in jail for more than 40 years is just wrong.... Can they do something a lot quicker??? I don't see why people who do this should see their next birthday.

Yep, he knew what he was doing, enjoy hell for the next 70 years if you survive. Imagine if this was a "person of color" we'd have to hear how terrible it is to sentence this young man to life in prison (Karmelo Anthony supporters I'm looking at you ). And Nolan Wells race baiters you're in the same boat !

Yes he laughed but so did everyone else in the court including the girl giving the victims testimony
however where is the white people protesting ?

Kid is evil.
Prosecution had recordings of him on the phone with his mom from jail coming up with ways to give him an insanity defense and almost reveling in the attention the shooting got him.
They also has copies of his discord messages and photos where he talked about wanting to be like the Parkland shooter - including what was described as a shrine to the shooter Cruz that he had in his bedroom.

I work with a guy who went to school with his mom. She was a junky. Like as an adult she tied up her parents in their house and stole from them junky.
She left the kid and dad. Don’t know much about the dad but based on his conviction I’m sure he wasn’t a great dude either.
Kid deserves life in jail for his actions but he never had a chance.

Well, let’s be honest here, the vast majority of school shooters are white males. So there’s that…

I have never seen or heard anyone use “inapposite” in a sentence. Kudos. Very nicely done, sir.
