I just don't see any realistic scenario where a 2 way guard/ SF get any minutes on this roster.
We are talking about playing small ball and not getting a center because we can't play all of our guys at PG-SF already.
I'd also rather have them use a 2 way spot on a guy like Orlando robinson at center.
These 2 ways aren't just about this yr though. This is about finding an nba guy at any position. These guys might be on the roster for 10 days.
I'd use at least one spot on a center since they don't have any young talent in the pipeline.

If this is what Willie might do they should just trade Hawk now. It makes no sense to play a 2 way guy because of his defense over your first round pick you’ve invested in. It’s astronomically stupid to do this, and a complete waste of drafting Hawkins to begin with.

Nets are in an interesting situation.
They traded bridges because the return was absolutely too good to pass up.
The swaps and all, they still need to at least be competitive right?
Picks need to flow to us in that situation

I am not a Lavert fan, but we do need wing help if BI is going out. Lavert gives us a veteran backup wing that comes off the books when Trey’s extension kicks in.
Brooklyns books are wide open after this season and after this deal, besides Nic Claxton’s extension. As you said, no reason Brooklyn can’t try to build a team sooner with their own picks compromised. I think they are an ideal suitor for BI.
I can’t possibly guess what Cleveland is hoping for at this point and don’t ultimately think they trade Allen. But Cam’s salary being similar got my attention.

I could see them throwing a big contract after the season to BI. No need to give up assets now.

Not wrong and a good point. They would certainly be at risk that any other team with cap space could have a better basketball situation. And BI would be signing without bird rights unless we agree to play ball. But not insurmountable things maybe.

Them giving up cam Johnson is two fold, they're giving up on a player who's shown he's limited.
His contract is average, I think he's worth a first.
They don't want to be bad enough to give up a high pick away. They get Ingram who should push them into that 30 win territory. Allows them to have the upper hand to keep him as well and losing 0 picks in the process.

Yup, Brooklyn is in a position to tank for Flagg, they won’t trade for someone that takes them out of that position. They want draft picks and expiring contracts of mediocre players, they not trading for Ingram

Bruh, what? Steph Curry is one of the greatest scorers in nba history. Do you recall 2015, when he shot 45% on 9 threes a game. Also averaged 30ppg and won his second straight mvp. He even led the league in steals, which I didn’t expect to see.

Lavert wouldn’t excite me, but I would very much like Jarrett Allen, so yes.
Of all the hypothetical lineups we’ve thrown out there, I like the sound of Murray/CJ/Herb/Zion/Allen the most. Either that or some variant that replaces either CJ or Herb with Trey

I still think, if a BI trade isn't happening, the smart moves are to trade Hawk for Kessler and maybe swing a deal with Chicago for Torrey Craig or go sign a defensive wing in FA to a vet min. Oshae Brissett comes to mind there or Reggie Bullock.

The issue that I see with it, is that the Nets are one of the only teams that could just sign BI outright next off season if they really wanted him.

Agreed and they aren't giving up much to get him now (bird rights and all).
