re: Pels vs Suns

Leave Brooks open. Every shot he takes is one less for Booker
Funny to see him say that out loud. My opinion was always that even he realized he didn’t know how to turn this thing around. He had no answers.
re: What’s the plan to make Pelicans better NEXT Season
Posted by PELsu on 12/17/25 at 7:29 pm to spaghettioeauxs
Simple. Get rid of Zion. Ideally add a 4 that has some size, defends and rebounds first and foremost. Think Aaron Gordon around Jokic. If he can shoot, home run. Design around DQ and count on improvements and additional strength on Fears. Not to mention full offseasons for Herb and Trey.
re: Pels v Bulls, the early return of Z

Until he doesn’t and stops playing defense for three straight possessions. I just don’t know what you do with a guy like that.
Remember when the whole team bashed Jaden Daniels. Good times
All makes sense. Borrego had Lamelo in Charlotte when he made an all star team. And we know the Warriors love Trey and Herb. Have to assume this also includes Zion going out somewhere as Kuminga and Zion never made sense. Could be a roster flip type of season.
re: Why wouldn’t we trade Zion?

Because no one is offering two first round picks. Plan was to have him actually play and then trade him later. He’s still not playing.
re: Y’all miss BI yet
Posted by PELsu on 11/20/25 at 10:08 am to whatiknowsofar
I will never understand why BI is anything other than universally loved here. He did miss a lot of time, but he was great for us. No surprise to me that he is doing well in Toronto.
He hasn’t hired Ham and firing Willie was his best move yet. I am in no way interested in defending this team or front office, but I can’t stand things like this. If it’s so bad, you don’t need to embellish.
re: $95 million payroll for three players with no production
Posted by PELsu on 11/18/25 at 3:44 pm to TigerBait2008
I will never understand why our fan base, and many out there honestly, are so simple minded and can’t differentiate the product from the business. This team is making money hands over fist. They have no f’ing clue how to win basketball games. But they have made hundreds of millions over decades in NO.
Every team has NBA players that will make wide open threes. Every one. And we’ve seen it. Play defense!
Exactly. I want to see that there was a plan. A goal to get a good open shot. Maybe we miss, maybe Steph lights us up. But we can’t also lose the coaching battle every single time.

Signs of bad management alternatively. Possibly sitting Zion in a maybe winnable game, and instead playing him on the teams second of a back to back against the defending champs.
Signs of a good coach to look for. NOT putting Herb Jones on Steph Curry. Letting him play help and off ball, let Fears and Jose chase him around. Let Herb take whomever the second scorer is out of the game. Ala Pop putting Bruce Bowen on Peja instead of CP3 back in the day and completely turning the series.
re: We need to feature Queen more
Posted by PELsu on 11/7/25 at 8:37 am to saints5021
As frustrating as it could become, they need to get return for Zion. “Some” sort of solid return. We need him on the court and playing well as much as possible for an eventual offseason trade with two years on his contract.
Queen is his replacement. Queen could be the offensive hub. While no one will say his name and Jokic in the same sentence, one of the greatest players to ever play the game. The Pelicans would do good to watch as many Denver games as they can and steal anything and everything. The kid really does have enormous potential.

1 is not like the other. Fears had a bad game defensively, but queen was crushing them.
What?
Queen-
12, 8, 7 and 4
Fears-
11, 3, and 1
Hawkins-
2, and 1

Fears-

Hawkins-

Jordan Hawkins- 17 minutes, Jeremiah Fears- 17 minutes, Derik Queen- 17 minutes
Posted by PELsu on 11/5/25 at 6:43 am
That can NOT happen. The majority of our games have been essentially one score. This is coaching malpractice. Even if you put to the side the players quitting on him, his lack of a scheme and focus on three point shooting etc. What does Hawkins do better than Fears? Not defense, not shooting, ball handling, nothing. Fears could have played 34 minutes. What are we doing?

Nevermind, start Karlo lol

Cause Karlo plays hard
Poole and Murphy have really been putrid in so many ways.
