re: We need to feature Queen more

As frustrating as it could become, they need to get return for Zion. “Some” sort of solid return. We need him on the court and playing well as much as possible for an eventual offseason trade with two years on his contract.

Queen is his replacement. Queen could be the offensive hub. While no one will say his name and Jokic in the same sentence, one of the greatest players to ever play the game. The Pelicans would do good to watch as many Denver games as they can and steal anything and everything. The kid really does have enormous potential.
quote:

1 is not like the other. Fears had a bad game defensively, but queen was crushing them.

What?
Queen-
12, 8, 7 and 4

Fears-
11, 3, and 1

Hawkins-

2, and 1
That can NOT happen. The majority of our games have been essentially one score. This is coaching malpractice. Even if you put to the side the players quitting on him, his lack of a scheme and focus on three point shooting etc. What does Hawkins do better than Fears? Not defense, not shooting, ball handling, nothing. Fears could have played 34 minutes. What are we doing?

Poole and Murphy have really been putrid in so many ways.
Remember the “foot” injury. Said he guessed it happened this morning, not sure and not serious.

Start Derik Queen!

The second we made the trade and pick, I thought the true plan (if you squint and actually believe they had a plan) was to have Derik replace Zion after this season. Throw him out there. Let he and Fears develop a two man offensive game. Have Herb and Trey space, and Looney will be needed for defense, rebounding and experience. No we won’t win a ton this season, but these are the future guys, just roll with it.

What is wrong with Trey? I just don’t get it. He looks skinnier to me. He looks sad. It’s so weird. He reminds me of that middle school kid that doesn’t want the ball thrown to him. What the hell happened?

Last game with Willie as our head coach!
I honestly believe even Willie doesn’t want to do this any more. He knows he can’t turn it around. That’s how long we waited.
I watched Derrick Queen leak out down court while the Celtics got two offensive rebounds. So that’s something. I’m sure top NBA coaches would let that happen.

Jesus, you feeling ok? You said I didn’t watch the game and I responded that I was there. Everything ok at home?

This is a dumb question and shows you didn't watch the game at all. We lost a challenge early, that cost us, because we couldn't challenge the bullshite call at the end where the ball clearly went off a Spurs player. If we had one available, we would have got another shot to tie the game. The Queen call was highly questionable, as he got the ball first, then the wrist (the angles showed much different viewpoints). They stated that he got more of the wrist and didn't overturn the call.

Well that was uncalled for. I was actually at the game. And drinking from way before it started, so sorry if the details in OT were a little hazy. But your early means in overtime? So we’ve gone two full regulation games without a challenge? I’m truly asking, because a couple of points at the end of a regulation NBA game is one of the most obvious ways for a coach to impact a win or a loss. These being two good examples. The difference between shooting to win the game or intentionally fouling. The difference between OT or no OT. It’s not like there aren’t bad calls against the Pelicans all the time.

Have we challenged a call yet?

Maybe I am misremembering. Hey, I was drinking heavy during Spurs game. But in two very close games, I don’t remember Willie challenging a call.

Barely anyone was out there warming up really. I thought it was much more curious he didn’t come out when the team came out. But yes, could be just stretching etc

I was right there as well. Zion did not warm up as stated. He also didn’t come out with the team. Came out right before the player announcements and national anthem. Took three lazy shots.

Right after national anthem started, he turned and walked to the bench and sat on the bench by himself. I guess protesting the anthem. Then he was angry and arguing with the refs from the tip. The rest of the team just kindof laughed or rolled their eyes for most of it.

Overall, the team seems awesome. Guys all helping each other, having fun, playing hard. Many guys coaching the rooks etc. Jose, DeAndre Jordan, Looney etc all extremely engaged. Zion just seems like such an outcast. He also threw the ball inbounds right to the other team. Can’t even explain his thoughts there.

That being said, he played great and guys don’t seem mad at him or anything. Seems like a bit of a circus, that maybe everyone just deals with.

Wouldn’t be the Pelicans if we weren’t trying to eliminate all that is good with the team.

Remember when we played Dickinson and didn’t think it mattered? Good times. Glad we didn’t challenge any calls this game
