I’m not sure that’s totally true. Celtics discussed Mobley for Brown. Mobley will make $50 million this coming season and $120 million over the next four.

Brown is 30 and taking up 35% of the cap. It’s humerous to watch online fans discuss players’ worth.

Well that’s not accurate. Our pick has essentially twice the probability of moving up. It’s way more valuable.

I agree but it is fun to think about a Herb/picks package. Because I do think Murray, Brown, Trey and Zion would win games. Assuming some semblance of center play.
The dirty little secret no one talks about. The reason the Celtics are open to trading Brown is the size of his contract. It’s a super max where he makes up about 35% of the cap three years into his 30’s. He’s a great player and I would love to have him. But there’s not a lot of teams mortgaging their future for that.

If they add a center and had a semblance of health, they could still be very competitive. But I don’t love the center possibilities, fit and cost.

This was always the extremely more likely scenario. No protection was reckless, but the response was always a bit biased.
