quote:Fears might be good, but he isn’t anywhere close to Maxey Tyrese Maxey in College: 6’3, 198 lbs 14 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 3.2 apg 42/29/83 shooting splits Jeremiah Fears: 6’3, 182 lbs 17 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 4.1 apg 43/28/85 shooting splits People are revisionist about Maxey, he wasn’t some elite shooter in college. Beyond just the stats their games looked really similar if you actually watch them. Fears also reclassified and should’ve been a senior in high school last year, he’s the upside swing worth taking in this draft if you stick at 7.

He’s much more Maxey than Poole, but both are pretty bad comparisons. Maxey is similar in size, but uses elite speed and relentless hustle. Fears is nothing like Poole. Guessing you are trying to draw an inefficiency comparison, but Fears is an excellent excellent ball handler. Poole is a shooting guard.

As said, Fears was a HS senior last season and grew an inch and 10 pounds over the last year. I still believe his ultimate best comparison is Damian Lillard. He’s also similar in size and play to Darius Garland, though Garland has elite athleticism. Fears is more about a quick step and ball handling savvy.

All my opinion of course, but to me, Fears is a ball player. A gamer. A guy that will be good in clutch moments and big games. Lillard is a 37% career three point shooter, very good but not that elite elite level. Maybe a bit more scorer than distributor but good at both. I’m a big fan. Only time will tell.
Our starting PG blew his Achilles and our star player was accused of rape. Applications at the front desk.

He’s getting $11 million a year NOT to coach. Unless you are willing to buy Willie out and top that by a lot, he’s not an option.
Guys….Zion wouldn’t be going to the Raptors. In theory, this would be a part of a Giannis to the Raptors.

So how do we feel about Scottie Barnes?

Just curious, but let’s say there was a deal that swapped out Zion for Scottie Barnes. Just about to start a five year rookie extension, so under team control for a long while. He’s 23 years old. Plays defense, low maintenance, less injury risk. But yes you would have to give up Bucks draft capital. Just interested to know how eager some would be for that swap.
I think it’s complete BS, but it is funny to me as one of the only Herb trades I liked in the past was something around Lively. If we had a chance some other way to get an all around 2 guard that can create, lively as a young anchor, and more importantly under team control for years still, could make sense.

The Mavs closing five should have AD at the 5 and Flagg at the 4. Herb as a lead defender and spacer makes a lot of sense. Livelys value to them is less than it would be to us IMO.
We aren’t trading Zion unless it really hurts the other team. I don’t think Charlotte offering a couple firsts is some insult, but we aren’t trading Zion for a package like that any more than Charlotte is trading Lamelo for a couple firsts.
They had Giannis, we didn’t. It’s a pretty simple formula.

And even still, they won one championship in 12 seasons.

It happens everywhere, not just Nola. Hell, the Bucks are probably about to go through it with the best player in the league.

It’s true. Location and history mostly. Even OKC had their stars leave. Go down the list.
I always wonder for those people that play the mental gymnastics games, if we had LeBron and they had Zion, would we then have won the trade?

For those that don’t follow, the Lakers won because they have LeBron. We sent one year of a disgruntled player for years of multiple players. And still have Dejounte Murray, CJ McCollum and Herb Jones along with the Pacers pick next year. One of the best trades in our history for sure.
Well, would make sense for BI to win a championship after traded from the Pels
Really I think the interesting part is that Castle and Harper together is a bit of overkill. Both are better with the ball. Bucks would be way better off walking out with Castle and then our picks. Maybe take Kon, and have two really good cost controlled players heading into two tanking seasons.

Ugh, what a weird season. That might take him out of all next season.

Fears is super young. He reclassified and will be 18 years old at the start of the season. Yet he averaged over 17 points a game at OU. He’s a 6’4 true point guard that is super quick. And I believe a very good shooter. I realize what his final percentages said, but he was 85% from the Ft line and I don’t think one would watch him and say he’s not a good shooter. And of course he finished strong when the games mattered. It’s a leap of faith a bit for sure, but he should be graduating HS right now. Don’t sleep on him. It’s usually the PG’s that don’t go super high yet exceed their draft slot.
Well, it’s do they want 2, or do they want 7 and their next two drafts. And hey, in 2027 it’s the best if theirs and ours, and no guarantee we can’t muck it up. It’s a tough call, but that generally means it’s fair.

Him or Fears would be great considering the situation.
Ha, just posted this. I said 7, swap and 2027 pick for 2. Would have to ignore what Dallas and SA look like moving forward but still.

So this is where we got screwed, but would you possibly do 7, bucks swap and 2027 pick for #2? You would be handing Giannis to SA, but could be possible.
