My opinion is we have had this player. We traded Josh Hart, we let Naji walk, etc etc. The guy everyone wanted to repeat how maybe he’s not a starter. But all he did was go out there every night and make the team better. And they went on to win a bunch of games for someone else while we were worse for it. There comes a time you just need to keep good, winning players.

Picking up Hawkins costs us Peavy, a second and a second swap. Absolutely fireable decision. No excuse for it.

I feel that has been so exaggerated but listen to what you are saying. Turner started every game through the playoffs, including all seven NBA finals games just over a year ago. I think it’s fair for people to think he can help the weakest position on our 26 win team.
But per 36 minutes last year he shot 38.3% from 3 on 7.2 attempts and 2.2 blocks. And the year before he shot 39.6% on 6.5 attempts and 2.4 blocks.
My thing is he immediately prevents opposing teams from putting their center in the paint for Zion. And as the roster stands today, if Missi twists his ankle like he did in the first game last year, our whole season is over.
That would be collusion. I think the SEC has thrown themselves into some long term legal battles now. They would have done better to create an exception.

Herb is a very good player. Mathurin is not a good player. This is the perfect trial for who really knows basketball. If you can’t see the above, you probably should avoid deep basketball conversations, as well as running an NBA team. And if the plan is to pay Mathurin $15+ million to come off the bench, that’s a terrible terrible plan.

Turner and Kuzma for Poole and Hawkins works, and is better if we send Hawkins to Memphis. I’m truly hoping that’s the plan somehow.

Turner and Kuzma for Poole and Hawkins, with Hawkins going to a third team saves Milwaukee $13 million immediately and gets them out of the rest of Turners contract. Plus opens a roster spot. Becomes slightly more appealing for them not having to take another guard.
A big part of winning in the NBA is playing guys that don’t suck. Hawkins actively hurts your team. Terrible on defense, takes a ton of shots and misses the large majority of them. Picking up his option was asinine and I and many others said the same that very day.
I’m not sure that’s totally true. Celtics discussed Mobley for Brown. Mobley will make $50 million this coming season and $120 million over the next four.

Brown is 30 and taking up 35% of the cap. It’s humerous to watch online fans discuss players’ worth.
