Hollywood Reporter
What an incredible loss to cinema and entertainment. Both, such a great sense of humor and gravitas. I don't think I've ever been disappointed by him.
quote:
Patrick Stewart, the sophisticated actor who brought a Shakespearean touch to Star Trek and X-Men as he made an otherworldly transformation from British stage veteran to sci-fi icon, has died. He was 86.
Stewart died Wednesday at his home in Los Angeles following “a brief and poignant journey with Alzheimer’s disease and Lewy body dementia,” longtime spokesperson Kelly Bush Novak announced.
“He has been held in the warm embrace of family and friends, surrounded by live music, prayer, tears, laughter and the kind of profound emotion that only he could inspire after a lifetime of devotion to us all,” Bush Novak wrote. “We will forever cherish the peaceful ease and reflection on his face, an enduring reminder of his invincible grace.”

There are two contemporary philosophies. One is the belief that death is the transformation into an indestructible and unchanging form... The other, contrary belief, is that death is simply blinking into nothingness.

Picard and Chekov in the same week. That’s rough.

Sad news. Remember first seeing him in Excalibur
At least the MCU can't kill Professor X again.
Godspeed.

This is sad.
He looked very much like my dad does and my dad always made us watch TNG growing up and we were given lessons from that show so I feel like I knew him

He was one of those actors that could make you give a movie or show a shot if he was in it. His talent on the screen will be missed.

TNG is no longer the oldest remaining cast where all members are alive.
Anyone know who is replacing them?

Damn. Glad he got to do Picard justice and one final turn as Xavier. Crazy that he's ten years younger than Shatner but always looked older.

wow - this one hits hard. my dad had Dementia and Lewey Body for about 12 years before he passed - I am thankful it was quick for him and his family.
