FOX Sports college football analyst Joel Klatt believes a three-loss SEC team could make the 12-team College Football Playoff this season, and he predicts LSU will be that team.

During a recent discussion about whether a 9-3 SEC team could earn the No. 11 seed in the playoff, Klatt identified four potential candidates: LSU, Alabama, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

His projection has LSU beating Alabama at home on November 7, losing to Texas the following week, and then picking up another big road win over Tennessee on November 21.

"LSU will have beaten Alabama and Tennessee in November. I've got Kentucky with two losses in November.

"So I've got one team (LSU) arrow pointed straight up, one team (Kentucky) arrow pointed down. As we know, the timing of losses matters.

"I think LSU's arrow is pointing up. They will have the win over Bama. They will have the win over Tennessee, both of those in November.

"LSU gets the 11 seed. LSU, 9-3, Lane Kiffin goes to the playoff, and they are the 11 seed in the playoff."

LSU (6-2) is currently on a bye week before hosting Alabama next Saturday in Tiger Stadium. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC.
