No Country for Old Men
I get the hype, but I'm not a fan of the Coen movies that end with little or no resolution (NCfOM and A Serious Man). Some of their other films are my all time favorites movies.

Magnolia is easily PTA's greatest movie if he removes "The Worm" scenes and the singalong

Inherent Vice is my personal favorite.

I’m a huge Coens fan and even I didn’t like it when I first saw it. Knowing what is going on when you watch it a second time makes it much better, especially when you realize how everyone thinks they are in a different movie than they are in, such as Sam Elliott as the cowboy.

I like the Big Lebowski but sometimes when people say shite like this it makes me wish I didn’t like it.

“Everyone thinks they are in a different movie”, no they don’t shut the frick up you just sound ridiculous

Without question for me ‘Silence Of The Lambs.’ The fact that it got nominated for best picture stunned me. The fact that it won was when I realized the Oscars jumped the shark.

I wouldnt frick you

The English Patient

You're right, it's easily The English Patient.

How that movie became a cultural phenomenon lampooned by Seinfeld is beyond me.

Another film that women love that befuddles men is Dr. Zhivago.

Like The English Patient women see it as a grand love story. Men tend to see it as a 3 1/2 hour nap. I mean like The English Patient, it feels like the movie just never fricking ends.

Any MCU flick, since they're all so terrible. Joker as well. It's just a poor man's taxi driver/king of comedy.

Most of the Marvel franchises are overrated. I can't get into them.

I tried, I really did.

Big Lebowski is definitely a movie that gets better and better with multiple viewings.

You weren't their target market unless you're a 13 year old girl. It was highly successful with them.

It's easily their worst movie.

Blues Brothers
Raiders of the Lost Arc
Apocalypse Now

FTR, I agree with you on Silence of the Lambs. There's nothing remotely intimidating or scary about Anthony Hopkins.

The head scientist said that it had only turned on when the mothership arrived.

Wrong.

He said the "neatest stuff" has happened in the last few days, and that all the "little gizmos inside started turning on."

The President says "Don't tell me you've had this thing for 40 years and we don't know anything about them." And he said "No, hell no...we know tons of stuff about them."

It's not like it's just been sitting there for decades not hooked up to anything or being studied.

The Fast and The Furious franchise Bad CGI and ridiculous on all levels... But "they sho do look kewl"

I kinda agree with you. Those movies are silly as hell and just turned into superhero nonsense in part 5. But, I think a lot of people just love those movies for how ridiculous they are.

I know Bill Simmons and a buddy of mine think Fast 5 is the best movie ever made, but I don’t think most of the viewing audience take those movies seriously.

I’ll mention 2001: A Space Odyssey. I don’t get it. Boring as hell. Took me 4 tries to finish it cause I kept falling asleep.

Agree completely. I've posted this on here several times. Hopkins' performance as Lecter is straight comedy. "Chianti and fava beans" line makes "Martha!" seem like Shakespeare. No one takes him seriously as some criminal mastermind murderer, do they? When I walked out of the theater when I saw SotL I was sure it would get roasted as a bad parody. Instead, people laud it as some landmark achievement. Floors me.
