Agree with this but I’m more amazed by the number of women who feel totally secure walking around in what’s essentially a sports bra. If they’re larger it’s usually coupled with high waisted pants so you’re spared naval at least. I really find it mind-boggling that they’re that secure with their rolls.

Also this bit, definitely in the movie, forgot if it was from the book. Jake on his horse, awaiting hanging.
Gus, “I want you to know, I got Lorie back.”
Jake, “Who?”

Damn.
Perfect example, “The Heart Won’t Lie.” Duet between Vince Gill and reba McEntire. It’s a really good song, but the video is ridiculous. She’s in Navy Boot Camp or something and he is her harsh instructor. I remember one scene where he’s yelling at her while she is running through the mud in the rain at night. Even as a kid, I thought it was pretty dumb.
While not a good man by any stretch, I love Roger Sterling. He made me laugh out loud the most.
Victor David Hanson, classical scholar, calls this sort of female, liberal behavior “maenadism.” Incredibly accurate.
I had a coworker who had a poster with this quote up in her classroom. I silently disagreed with it for years.
Looks like it’s filmed out around Lauderdale/Roanoke.
Knitting. It’s not that tough to learn the basics and it’s quietly satisfying. The only scarf and hat I wear in winter are ones I knitted.
I lived in Laramie about 15 years after it happened. I became friends with the local judge through his wife who I worked with and got the whole story from him. The two points I mainly remember is when his mom heard about the beating the first thing she said was something like, “I knew he’d get into trouble because of drugs,” basically because she knew he’d had a bad habit and ran with bad people. He apparently associated with at least one of the attackers, occasionally intimately. The other point was when the “dumbass” (judge’s words) sheriff (I think sheriff, LE officer) found out he was gay after he’d been identified he said “was this because he was gay?” and that set off the firestorm.

I just finished Screwtape Letters last week and randomly watched this tonight. I felt the whole time that it was reimagining of Screwtape. Was pleased to hear you second my notion. Will admit I muttered a few prayers to St. Michael and my Guardian Angel during the viewing.
I wonder when we’ll start getting memes about white parents having to have “the talk” with their white kids. Remember a lot if those post-George Floyd
Good show. One of my main takeaways, because they kept showing aerial shots of the town, was how windmills blight a landscape.
American Gods. Would have loved it to be a bunch of short stories, loosely connected, about all the ancient gods in America. Found the actual plot, kind of boring.
I read it for the first time a few years ago. Think it was in the month of March and when I finished I knew it would be the best book I read all year.
My husband complains that I randomly switch brands of something, or decide to buy the store’s generic—the most recent example is garbage bags. I like to keep our marriage exciting.

Cocomo, your reviews are basically the reason I always read the challenge threads. Thank you for making me laugh out loud as I drank my coffee this morning.

Thank goodness all those bystanders honked their horns until grandpa showed up and actually did something—-alone.
She just said, on Jesse Watters, they’re releasing flight logs tomorrow
Teachers have to submit lesson plans, not that different, or difficult.

A Facebook friend posted this so guess I was too dim to understand the deeper meaning.
