Not sure what more LSU can do

That depends on the amount of information that was reported. The Title IX coordinator can issue a formal complaint without a cooperating complainant. LSU appears to contemplate this, directly address this situation, and even have the ability to implement interim measures. LINK

Indeed, a school has Title IX responsibilities absent a "Formal Complaint" (LSU's term). See LINK and LINK

In the case of a sexual assault, there are also Clery Act responsibilities. See LINK. Regardless, the burden is on the school and not the parties for the investigation. See LINK

I am not sure if we know what LSU did or did not do. If they just asked if she wanted to file a "Formal Complaint" then there could be issues. As you mention, if they took minimal or no action on a second complaint of similar conduct that actually resulted in a Formal Complaint being filed, there are likely issues.

Damn, I thought all the analsyts saying he had character concerns at the draft were nothing but pure bs.

Looks like they were on to something. Damn.

f you were raped, it is a crime. Call the cops.

Going through the university makes the process much painless.

Don't tell Coach O, he's not the damn police.

True, but if she told O, he was obligated to report it to the Title IX office.

since the Obama changes to enforcement of Title 9, they are encouraged to go through their universities and not the police b/c it's easier

I bring this up every time there’s a story about a university bungling a rape case. Which used to be a weekly occurrence. This is really underrated on the list of dumbass things Obama did.

i have this very high up on the worst things his admin did. may be the worst domestic policy of his admin (i mean admin alone)

his foreign policy was terrible outside of the one great thing his admin did (normalize relations with Cuba)

These things don't usually just get plucked out of thin air. There were whispers that NFL teams had character concerns with DeAndre Baker although he never got into any trouble in college. Turns out that they were right.

Scouts do a LOT of digging on these guys.

Including Orgeron is a journalist looking to make front page news. The only mention of his is hearsay from a former player (one of the alleged victim’s boyfriends) who says he thinks Orgeron knew about it. No proof, just a quote about what someone thinks. What the guys claims Orgeron told him doesn’t sound like a coach who’s covering up a rape. It sounds like a coach who heard his star RB slept with another player’s girlfriend and was trying to keep the locker room under control.

Other than that I find it hard to believe that LSU compliance chose to sweep it under the rug. I think it’s more likely that the tennis coach slow rolled filing the complaint and when they investigated, it was nothing but the women’s word with no corroboration.

Lucky for us, journalists aren’t worried about corroborating stories these days. They take inflammatory quotes and blast them out as soon as possible.

There's a whole lot of "does not appear" and "allegedly" going on in those links.

Yep.

That or like several other posters above said, Guice was known as a piece of shite human being who had zero respect for women, but all those fans kept cheering him on to carry that rock!

Don’t worry. NCAA won’t touch LSU football over this.

Something might happen to be discovered at LA Tech, UL or McNeese very soon to bring down that “NCAA means business” hammer.

Don’t be ridiculous, he was not a “known” while playing at LSU by 99% of football fans. The amount of melt on this website when he dropped in the draft proves this.

After reading the article and how detailed and specific these allegations are, I mean obviously I’m gonna give Derrius the benefit of the doubt as he’s entitled to as the accused but this is some damning shite bro, IDK how he recovers from this, guess we’ll see what happens next.

Despite SlowFlow’s clear bias for LeBron despite how immensely LeBron blew the game last night, I agree, whatever the article mentions about O relative to this isn’t strong plus it’s on the word of a jilted ex-player, probably all biased bullshite anyway.
