Former Louisiana Tech punter Blake Ochsendorf announced his commitment to LSU on Monday.

Ochsendorf, a native of Savage, Minn., was a first-team All-Conference USA selection last season. Per Nola.com:
quote:

Ochsendorf, who is listed at 6-foot-6 and 220 pounds, has one more year of eligibility. He and redshirt junior Peyton Todd will compete to replace Jay Bramblett as the starting punter.

Last year, Ochsendorf led C-USA with an average of 45.72 yards on 53 punts, making him the all-time leader in career punting average at Louisiana Tech during his one season as the starter.

His 17 punts of more than 50 yards, the most by a Louisiana Tech player in more than a decade, also led the conference, and he had more punts fair caught (25) than anyone else in the league. He also boomed kicks of 70 and 66 yards.

What a disappointment Peyton Todd was. A highly touted punter who failed to achieve his potential--in fact couldn't get on the field. Best of luck to LSU's new punter.

But how many taunting penalties will he get on his way to the end zone?

Has Peyton Todd been one of the great mysteries the past 3-4 years? Has he ever punted???

The Louisiana Tech Head Coach Sonny Cumbie was picked in two* publications as the “Dumbest Coach in FBS”. I can’t blame any Bulldog that gets an offer for leaving.

*One publication has him tied with ULL’s Michael Desormeaux for co-Dumbest in FBS.

I'm not going to crap on any punters

Punters are probably what gave Les an extra 4 years here

Cool. Hope we barely have to use him though. Scoring 38-45 points a game this season would be nice again. (As long as we don’t give up that many this year!!)
