Two former Louisiana State University students say recently released Washington Football Team running back Derrius Guice raped them just months apart in 2016, when Guice was a rising star freshman on the LSU football team.

quote:

A USA TODAY investigation found that the women’s allegations were shared at the time with multiple people at the school — including at least two coaches, an athletics administrator and a nurse — yet the school does not appear to have investigated.

Not in the incident that was actually reported as a Title 9 investigation

The boyfriend of the first sounds like he has an ax to grind against O.

quote:

The former boyfriend redshirted his freshman year and said he steered clear of Guice because “I probably would have lost my (expletive) on him.” But he said LSU head football coach Ed Orgeron brought up the subject of his then-girlfriend and Guice about a year after the alleged assault, telling the athlete that he shouldn’t be bothered by it. “(Orgeron) said, ‘Everybody’s girlfriend sleeps with other people,’” the former player told USA TODAY.

quote:

The former player said he doesn’t know how Orgeron knew what happened, but he believes the coach knew it was not consensual. “I lost all respect for him,” the player added. Orgeron did not respond to a request for comment.

This side story seems like it’s taken out of context and connecting coach O to it is done just to get it more attention. Like, Coach O came up to a player and say “ey baw I heard your girl banged Guice! Don’t worry about it! Happens to all of us!” Lol

The woman’s boyfriend at the time, an LSU football recruit, wasn’t at the party. But he said the woman told him afterward about both the alleged assault and her conversation with the nurse. His description matched that of the woman’s.

The woman said when she heard Guice had told other players he’d had sex with her, she made it clear to them it had not been consensual.

Maybe she cheated on her bf with Guice then tried to make it out to be rape

Then report it to the police so it can actually be investigated as a crime.

we don't really need to get into the possibilities with that situation. she didn't report it to LSU title 9 and it's not clear how/when the information got to the coaches. the author of the article says O spoke to the boyfriend but it's not clear when. the woman also said she spoke to players, not coaches.

it's all irrelevant in getting into the weeds on that one when the OTHER one looks quite bad for LSU. that one WAS reported to our Title 9 office and they, apparently, didn't do anything.

So "cleat chaser" makes allegations after high draft pick gets fat NFL contract?

Perhaps 1) D Guice denied her extortion attempt and this is the fallout or 2) Innocence coed finally gathers strength to tell of traumatizing event form 5 years ago.

You make the call.

This is about money. The burden of proof in any civil Title IX lawsuit or student conduct hearing is a preponderance of the evidence. The burden of proof in a criminal case is beyond a reasonable doubt. Based on the stories told by each woman in that article, they don't meet that requisite criminal burden of proof. So to preserve a potential monetary claim against LSU and Guice, they don't file a criminal complaint, yet have no problem suing everyone else they claim is responsible. If you're truly a victim, wouldn't you want to make sure Guice never did this to anyone else? Not these two.

Guice fell like a round+ in the NFL Draft for "character concerns". now we know what those are

you make the call

one didn't file a Title 9 action so that's irrelevant

the other apparently did and LSU did nothing. THAT is a HUGE problem, even if her claim is total BS. it's beyond the validity of the claim if no investigation occurred
