David Cobb of CBS Sports recently put together a list of College Football coordinators who could emerge as head coach candidates during the next coaching carousel and LSU defensive coordinator Blake Baker was second on his list.
quote:

Blake Baker, LSU defensive coordinator: Baker worked wonders with Missouri's defense over the past two seasons, turning a unit that ranked 105th nationally before he arrived into one that ranked 33rd last season as the Tigers finished 11-2 with a Cotton Bowl victory. If he can do the same at LSU in 2024, look for the 41-year old former Tulane linebacker to get some head coaching looks. He worked as a graduate assistant under Mack Brown at Texas from 2010-12 and has coordinator experience at Miami and now with two SEC programs.
Georgia defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann was at the top of Cobb's list, just ahead of Baker.

He hasn’t coached one game yet as our DC. Wow!

A year ago, Matt House was a "leading candidate" for head coach at Michigan.

On previous post, I meant Baker hasn't been dc for any games yet. I realize he's been LSU DC since he arrived in January or February.

No doubt clickbait, but also it's ridiculous. His LSU defensive coordinator career has not even begun and this is already being mentioned. Let's see how he does. I think Baker will be good at it, but let's not put the cart before the horse, or however that old expression goes.
