It's the most wonderful time of the year....... where every few years or so, a damaging story comes out about LSU football right before the season starts. Luckily this was 5 years or so ago and hopefully, we can manage to distance coach O from this and the national media doesn't run with it. Rest assured, if this snowballs on O, you're going to have plenty of these journalists bring up his distant past with glee.

All LSU employees are mandatory reporters. If they were told about it and didn’t report
According to the article, they did report, and when lsu officials reached out to the girl, she didnt want to cooperate

As it relates to Incident 1 im not sure what else anyone could have expected lsu to do

there are 2 situations.

one that is potentially very bad (with an alleged title 9 report and allegedly no investigation)

one that is a nothingburger trying to attach itself to the current HC (the one with no title 9 report where the victim didn't want to pursue that angle and whose facts relating to O are not likely related to the alleged rape part)

incident 1 is discussed in more detail, lots more details and "evidence" but no report filed (unless im mistaken)

Incident 2 is the one id be more concerned with, as it sounded as if not one but TWO lsu coaches knew about an incident involving possible sexual assault involving athletes, and possibly a notification had been made by the girl but no action taken

Edit-lol see above post

That's not stopping CFB writers from tweeting about how "Orgeron responded to a rape allegation by saying girls sleep around", because that's what's happening right now.

ETA: And local beat writers (Brody Miller) re-tweeting it. They just want a skin on the wall. They want to be a part of getting someone fired. It's like they think it's a way to build their resume.

So, is this correct?

Incident 1

Took place in spring 2016 with Miles as head coach

Girl then let a friend on diving team know, who then informed her coach, who then informed lsu officials that contacted the girl but the girl didnt want to report and press forward

Then, a year later we have a random girlfriend sleep with people quote from Coach O

Not sure what else LSU could have done here, and the O quote put in here is pure clickbait shite

Incident 2

Tales place in June 2016 with Miles as head Coach and the female is a tennis player

She lets friends know, but no university officials. She then is kicked off by LSU for drugs, and sometime later after being kicked off files a report to Title Ix

So, depending on the title ix investigation, im not sure exactly what LSU did wrong, but it certainly doesnt mention anything about football coaches withholding anything

the insertion of O in that story is such bullshite. it's obviously a try hard move b/c our HC, AD, and Pres at the time are gone

That's my thoughts as well. It's almost a non story without including CEO.

It's not a non story, but it's like they just included CEO to get people's attention.

yeah it's a legitimate story but they don't have any scalps from the legitimate story anymore, so they have to find SOMEONE

I'm willing to bet there are more girls with similar experiences dealing with Guice/other LSU guys.....this is just the beginning.

Go to any school with an FBS program and you likely get stories about football players and questionable sexual encounters.

It will come down to a few things-

1. Were the incidents reported at the time?
2. Were the incidents properly investigated at the time?
3. Did the team or the school attempt to quash the investigation?
4. Did the school or team intentionally create an environment that fostered this kind of situation?

3 and 4 are what bit Baylor in the arse between covering up rapes and selling recruits on loose white women looking for BBC.

I believe a similar situation destroyed Colorado as a football power along with the school leadership deciding they wanted to de emphasize the sport. Didn’t help that Gary Barnett trash talked kicker Katie Hnida in the press after her accusations went public.

This is going to result in all cases involving Guice being examined and then may spread to accusation about other players in the same timeframe.

There will always be accusations but if there isn’t necessarily proof to back it up and there is nothing to indicate the school or team intentionally ranked the investigation, there may be no “there” there.

Win a national championship
Get a public divorce
Get dragged into rape accusations

That really sucks

Still not even in the top 5 for SEC coaching “bad luck.”

The gold standard still has to be Bobby Petrino’s motorcycle wreck.

I’m just taking about in general for any SEC coach.

I’m not going to go the Bo Rein route but the shark-fricker down in Florida sure had a quick fall despite multiple SEC East titles.

Not even going into Gene Chizik’s swift downfall either.
