re: Where to eat in Houston - LoneStarRanger
El Tiempo is the best, Ninfas right behind. For non Tex Mex, Hugo’s, Xochi (fancy), or even Picos Bbq: Pinkertons or Truth...then a step below is Gatlins and Pit Room, and right below that is Brookstreet (gets shat on but I disagree) Oldies but goodies: Barbecue Inn (fried chicken, ribs), H...

re: Anyone traveled to Egypt - LoneStarRanger
I’ve been before the overthrow of Mubarak and after. It’s a much more hostile place. In comparison to Pakistan, which seemed incredibly hostile to Americans, Egypt is on par. That being said, I know the organized tours provide better insulation from all that (those don’t really exist in Pakistan)...

re: "Texas" BBQ... - LoneStarRanger
That’s done in east Texas. Which is really just an extension of the south and it’s ways. Texas barbecue eschews sauce. Whether it is the German style Central TX bbq which is widely considered "Texas BBQ", or if it is West Texas Ranch style bbq, or south Texas tejano style. All of those are agains...

re: Any thoughts about Brexit, regarding the Irish border? - LoneStarRanger
That the big deal amongst Remainers is that the Brexit backstop would destroy the Good Friday’s Agreement and lead to another war. I call BS. Folks in Ireland and Northern Ireland are not very religious anymore, and most of the under 40 year olds don’t care about the old hatreds, and 20% of their...

re: Why do conservatives advocate for private clubs choosing their own membership - LoneStarRanger
It's not necessarily how they started out, it is based on what they are, regardless. As I mentioned, and Draconian Sanctions has not addressed (while still engaging in this thread):
Facebook is open to the public, and not a private club. It’s also publicly traded to boot. Club has d...

re: Why do conservatives advocate for private clubs choosing their own membership - LoneStarRanger
Private is private, period. Google and Facebook want to censor, more power to them (unless they are a legal monopoly). Their shareholders or competitors can bring them to heel otherwise.
No they are not, in the same way a restaurant or retail store is not private. They are open ...

re: Why do conservatives advocate for private clubs choosing their own membership - LoneStarRanger
Facebook is open to the public, and not a private club. It’s also publicly traded to boot. Club has definitions in the legal sense and is protected by case law to allow for certain limitations to its membership selection For instance, a restaurant or retail store can’t refuse someone because o...

re: Paris Hotel - LoneStarRanger
Champs Élysées is like the Times Square of Paris. And heavily trafficked with tourists and pickpockets. If you prefer that, more power to you. Otherwise let the board know what type of neighborhood you prefer, and I’m sure you’ll get pointed in the right direction...
