re: So Who We Rooting For Now

Our screens seem to all look the same and rely more on good receiver blocking than any deception.
A lot of our screens look like option plays to me. Instead of QB keep, Gunner has the option to give it to the RB or pull it and throw a screen based on what the numbers dictate.

Truth is showing…. We always get everyone’s best shot and they always play over their heads against us. We are everyone’s Super Bowl.
Our defensive talent has fallen off a cliff. Devonte Wyatt was the 4th best player on the 2021 defensive line. He would be the best player on the entire roster this season.
We weren't their "Super Bowl." They whipped our arse in the trenches.
I still think a shake up trade to inject some new blood into the lineup was the way to go. We're now seeing the very predictable downside to signing so many guys to long contracts.
The Braves are banking on four guys to return to 2022-2023 form when we probably need to accept that version of these guys is gone and not coming back.
We have no idea what Strider is going to be going forward, but the track record of guys with two major elbow operations returning to their previous form is not good.
Albies is physically cooked. Harris has no pitch recognition. Riley has not been the same since Mike Brumley died.

I'm definitely not opposed to more explosive plays, but Georgia's offense actually was ruthlessly efficient this year
I know they were. It's just that being more explosive gives you a greater margin for error. If the offense didn't win on first down, it was really tough sledding. That's what we saw when they couldn't move the ball on 5 possessions with a chance to extend a 21-12 lead. Ole Miss started selling out to stop the run and Georgia couldn't make them pay over the top.
It is really, really hard to consistently go on 10 play scoring drives throughout a game. Hitting 40 yard chunk plays reduces the number of plays an offense has to execute to have a scoring drive.

Originally I wanted to fade the presumed most picked team, the Rams and go with New England.
But now I'm scaring myself by seeing they had the 30th hardest schedule in the league. Are they a phony 2 seed? No playoff experience (outside of the coach). Are they ready?
I wouldn't touch the Chargers/Pats game with a 50 foot pole. I think New England is better, but they've played a soft schedule and QBs making their first career playoff starts (Drake Maye) do not have good records in the last 25 years or so.
Packers/Bears - Rivalry game, wouldn't touch this either
Bills/Jags - Bills as a road favorite will be a popular pick straight up this week, but their run defense is absolutely atrocious. Something like 30th in the league. That doesn't translate well to playoff football.
Texans/Steelers - Houston is better, but I'm not confidently picking against Aaron Rodgers in a home playoff game. Also, Pittsburgh has not lost a home Monday night game since before the Texans were founded.
49ers/Eagles - If you're looking to avoid the Rams, I'd probably go here. Like New England, San Francisco has a GREAT coach but has played a really, really soft schedule. The 49ers are beat to hell and back. Ton of injuries. I also think the Eagles have another gear they're about to get to; they have seemed like a bored team waiting for the playoffs to start.
That said, I'd go with the Rams. I have learned a lesson over the years. Don't overthink survivor pools. Just try to get to the next week. Yeah, Carolina beat the Rams a few weeks ago, but that was a west coast team playing a 1:00 EST kickoff. I don't think they'll screw around with this one. They're going to beat Carolina's arse.
Red zone TD% is the most important offensive stat in football, IMO. Georgia was #2 in the nation (78%) this season. That is an awesome number. This is also what made the ending to the Ole Miss game so painful. 2nd and goal from the 3 was an automatic TD almost all season.
The biggest flaw for the offense was a lack of explosiveness. They had to be ruthlessly efficient to score points because they rarely threatened anyone downfield. I think this is the thing they need to fix the most going into next season.

And Kirby to BAL?
Monken back to Georgia as OC is what I meant

If Drew Brees can throw over a line - he needs to find out because they scouted that and it killed us the entire game. He needs to learn to pump fake or something.
The Saints always had really good interior OLs and play action from under center was a staple of their offenses. I think these were two huge factors in Brees being so good throwing over the line. Sean Payton is an offensive wizard.

Well, looks like there's a house cleaning in Baltimore. Harbaugh is out. I'd assume Monken is available
Monken to Georgia, Harbaugh to the Falcons. This needs to happen today.

Trump should have put a $1B bounty on both Soros and his son on day one of his presidency.

LaFluer (rumors he's out)
If the Packers let him leave, he needs to be named our HC about 10 minutes later. Supposedly Matt Ryan was a big reason he didn't stick around as OC after Shanahan left though, and if Ryan is making the coaching hire, this probably isn't going to happen.
Stefanski - Two time COY in Cleveland is pretty incredible
Rich Bisaccia - A little surprised he didn't get the permanent Raiders job after getting them to the playoffs as an interim
Kubiak - Has the bloodline and Seattle was great on offense this year... I'd personally like a HC with some experience but if we go the coordinator route, I wouldn't mind this one at all
John Harbaugh - Rumors about he and the Ravens potentially parting ways. If available, he's my #1 choice.

Monken wasn't great this year. Just letting ypu know
Lamar Jackson was dealing with hamstring issues all year and there are questions about how much he actually prepares.
I would bring Monken back in a heartbeat if he would do it. I don't think Baltimore would fight too hard to keep him.

He does, but for whatever reason, he has never been willing to pay top dollar for a coach.

I didn't think Mike White could put a high powered offense on the floor. I was wrong. This has been something to watch so far.
re: Do you think the Detroit Lions window has closed?

For a team like Detroit without much success, that home playoff loss to Washington last year felt like a franchise altering game as it was happening. For the Lions, that was an all time great team and they got run off their home field when they were Super Bowl favorites.
I never thought he would be able to hold up for a full season running between the tackles in the NFL. Dude is a hell of a player.

The Raiders are now seeking their 5th head coach since 2021 (6th if you count Rich Bissacia)
They should have given him the full time job after he got them to the playoffs as an interim.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Lot of smoke that this new president of football is going to be Matt Ryan.

The falcons are a QB away from being dangerous, I don’t think Penix is that guy tbh.
Penix sucks, but this team needs a lot more than QB.
The WR room is dreadful, they're going to need to replace both OTs very soon, they need a center, they need multiple linebackers, they need a CB2, and they need one or two big DTs so they can actually stop the run for the first time in a decade.

Monken is more likely to be a college OC next season than an NFL head coach. It was a rough year in Baltimore.
