IMO, I wish he would have gotten rid of the entire defensive staff. Our defense was improved, but they were no where near elite by any means. Blake Baker has been at LSU for two years - plenty of time to correct our problems - and we still can't stop a running QB.

LSU fans constantly boast about our defense because our offense was so putrid, anything the defense did was going to stand out. I consider Baker an average DC, but hopefully with Kiffin around we can score enough points to overcome Baker's shortcomings. Once he learns how to stop a running QB, I'll consider him a better than average DC.

this is worse than op . take a look at our defense if you remove parts of the vandy game and the second half against aggie. we would probably rank top 3 without those . as of now were probably top 25 on d

the schools are on different levels.brian kelly wasnt known as a great recruiter and did nothing . he magically brought in great classes while not even leaving the office and refusing to talk to recruits on the phone without an appointment.

the programs aren't the same
