In 1971 paid $800. for a 64 Chevy impala. 4 door. White with red interior and chrome wheels. Loved that car. Things started breaking on it so I only kept it for year and a half. But it was a beautiful car.

I got a 1993 Nissan hardbody in 1994. It wasn't brand new but it only had like 13k miles on it. Paid 8k IIRC.

1988 I was given a 1972 Volvo 145 station wagon, had to install my own replacement junkyard transmission $275 at 14 years old...

Then in 1989 bought a bad-arse 1972 datsun 240z for $3500

1990 while still in highschool I bought & actually partially financed without a co-signer a brand new 1991 mustang 5.0 hatchback, fox body, $12k

1997 Honda Accord in 2005 for $3500. Dad said he'd match what I'd saved from summer job/cutting grass.

1990. Had hand me down cars before but this was the first I bought with my own money at 22. Bought a 1979 Volvo coupe with a blown engine for $400. Put a used engine in it and drove it for 4 years until the transmission died in a flood. Sold it for $500.

I bought a 68 Ford Falcon in 1978. $350. Paid for it with money from moving yards. Drove cars that were made in a previous decade for years. Used to drive cars till the wheels fell off. After many years of working and investing, feel fortunate to drive new vehicles for the past 10 years or so.

In 1999 bought a 1991 Nissan Stanza for $3500 with 50k miles.
My college buddies nicknamed it “The Fireball” because it caught on fire. Twice.

Those automatic seat belts were something else.

ETA: price
