Better question is, in a three game series who wins? 2025 or 2023? I know 23 had some studs but this years team was top in the league in ERA and fielding percentage. I’d give the nod in game 1 to 23 because of 23.

2025.... just because the number of posters that said this team wouldn't make it to Omaha, or that JJ couldn't coach.

I found this team to be frustrating to watch all season. Never developed a third starter, never got any consistency at the plate. It really was just Spahn & Sain & pray for rain. 2023 team had much more character. I don’t remember Milazzo lollygagging down to first. Ever. And they beat Wake on a phenomenal play by Tre Morgan at the plate and not a fluky 9th where the Piggies gave us 6 outs. But sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good. Or maybe they created their own luck?

Who was the third starter in 2023?

The 2023 team dropped consecutive SEC series - when did that happen in 2025?

I generally don’t understand your post - this team had a ton of defensive highlights and showcased a ton of character all season, but especially in the postseason.

2023 was expected bc we had Skenes, Crews, White, etc. I didn't think we'd win it all this year like I did in '23... but it seemed like this team just breezed through the CWS.

2023

Going into the season that group felt like a "super-team" with big star power who was set to "finally" win the NC for the first time in nearly 15 years. The stars were the stars. Then, the CWS run was probably the most tension/drama filled run of any championship team for LSU.

The expectations in 2025 were high, but most thought there were a lot more uncertainties going in the season. It never fully felt like the team was great (relative to prior LSU teams)...except they just kept winning and winning all the way to the championship.

2023 by far. Nine games in eleven days, it seemed like every night was an elimination game, Skenes vs Wake is second only to Warren Morris in 96. The big personalities of the players, respect for great competition.

2023 was the best LSU CWS from a fan standpoint ever.

have to give it to 2023. 2025, while great, seemed like it was almost pre-ordained. There just wasn't the same level of drama, probably

2023 was more enjoyable but I didn't feel like this yr was pre-ordained at all.

Depends on whether you like stress as a stimulent. 2023 was more exciting because we had to fight back out of the losers bracket. You had bats like Crews, White, Jobert, Beloso, Dugas, and Travinski all hitting clutch hits and shots. Pitchers besides Skenes elevated when they had to which was nearly every day. That team just would not be denied.
This 2025 team outlasted everyone. No foul in that but made for less drama. Arky self destructed and Coastal imploded as well. Anderson mopping the floor with his opponents was the highlight for this team

Paul Skenes may have been the greatest portal pick up ever...

For baseball, yes.

For all sports, he’s probably our #2.

After ‘96!
‘97 was pretty sweet too because that was the only time we ever ran it back, and we beat ‘Bama (and b/c I was there!) ‘23 felt like ‘19 in football. You just believed in that team. Not sure I ever really believed this team would win it, until after the 9th against Arkansas.

Define enjoyable….

2023 was more dramatic.
-felt like we were gonna run out of pitchers. Then ACK stepped up.

2025 games were tight, but we played with a lead a lot. Pitching staff was never thin. I felt like LSU was going to win every game.

2023- nearly had a few heart attacks 2025- never felt like I was going to have a heart attack, and enjoy not dying…. So

23 was a solid week of nail biters that had an all-time CWS moment mixed in.

This one is as sweet, but if I had to re-watch one knowing the outcome, I'd have to go with 23

23 was better, skenes was already maybe the best pitcher on earth and it was incredible. tommy tanks was a real goofy fun character.

skenes/crews top two overall picks.

plus trey Morgan was the best defender every to put on a glove at LSU. and crews dominated. and they had to come through the losers bracket vs way better teams. wake forest that year was incredible. and Florida was awesome.

this year we had two aces and it was too easy. coastal sucks. West Virginia sucks.

2023. That team had more talent but had a tougher road to the championship.

This year the CWS field was weak. The outcome was rarely in doubt. Not nearly as much drama.

I say 23. It seemed more challenging. 25 seems to have alot less drama especially since the CWS lacked firepower this year. Arky really was the only test. And he had their number 2-1 in the regular season. And they weren't that great of a team away from home.

The 23 CWS more enjoyable because of the teams involved.

Man '23 was inevitable. I was significantly less stressed during that run even when faced with elimination. It just always felt like that team was going to win it all with all the players we had.

'25 was more stressful even though we never actually lost a game in the CWS. I don't know that I enjoyed one more than the other but I will say I enjoyed the Championship clinching game more in '23 because we won 18-4 and there was never a doubt lmfao.

23 is irreplaceable - 14 year drought, Jay’s first, the Wake game was one of the greatest I’ve ever seen, and handing it to Florida after a 20 run loss in game 2. Also was the run that really taught my kids what LSU fandom is all about.

25 may have been personally more enjoyable to watch, though, because I learned what a cheddar goblin is and made some special friends :)
