This is one of the craziest threads I've ever seen on this board. Some of you are so mentally unwell it's insane.

Catastrophe Syndrome
The flip side, TAMU didn’t have a national championship to show for it.

Maybe he can try a move to 2B in the offseason.

Stanfield’s legacy will always be leading the team last season during SEC play.

Several pitches called strikes have been low.

I’m not sure that we should give the .230 BA strikeout machines the benefit of the doubt on anything.

This entire season is an abomination. Nothing is acceptable about the way this team is structured or the way it competes. No one expects LSU to win the national championship every year, but to be this awful is unacceptable.

I would agree. It’s understandable that we might have a down year, especially with the injuries, but getting swept (and for the most part destroyed) 4-5 times this season is really concerning. Twice this season, they’ve given a sense of turning the corner, and then been flat-out crushed.

of course jay gets credit for skenes, eyanson, hernandez, dickinson. but ding him for bingham, yorke, caraway, yamin, dathe, simpson, etc.

Bingham and Caraway were from Arizona and Oregon State, traditionally successful legacy Pac-12 teams. Don’t forget to give them credit for the miracle work in 2022 when they brought in Gervase and Reyzelman from obscurity (Gervase has had a cup of coffee in the MLB).

re: It really comes down to pitching

Watching the recap on Wheels, the pitching is just inadequate. We were reasonably fortunate to keep them to 11 runs, based on how Schmidt kept working into jams and how hard they were hitting Sheerin and Guidry. Curiel had an outstanding catch in CF that saved at least two runs.

Having said that, most of their damage came with 2 outs, and in 2-strike counts. It seems like that’s pretty par for the course this season.

I don’t think that Evans is pitching again this season. I think that Jay is publicly leaving the possibility open to leave some uncertainty/misdirection for the next few opponents in their scouting.

Noot looked horrible. I guess there's a reason he hasn't been playing. Curious as to what the hell happened with him. If it's not injury related, man did be regress. Same goes for Cooper Williams.

I’ve been rooting for Noot since he highlighted that pitching class with Shores and missed 2023. I think he got all of about 1 inning in 2024, but it looked like he was going to be a contributor after 2025. Unfortunately, he’s effectively throwing batting practice this year, they were really crushing his pitches this weekend.

Yamin looked silly on every one of those pitches

Am I crazy, or was he too far off the plate/too open with his stance?

seems like a mini miracle to get out only down 1 run there

When I saw that catcher come up to bat, I was fairly sure they were about to clear the bases.

Why hasn’t Rizy pitched?

Wow things are truly desperate.

Noot needs to find it, and quick

If by ‘it’, you mean the barrel for all of these MSU hitters, then he has found it reliably so far.

Oh my, if Noot is coming in then I can only imagine we are going to see a multi-run HR.

This team is expert at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. It’s really incredible.

The leg to stand on is winning 2 national titles in the last 3 years(about to be 4 years). Every ad in america would take 2 seasons just like this year if it meant you had just won 2 of the last 4 national titles. The best coaches in college baseball right now, except corbin, don't have multiple national titles in their entire career.

Take a look at John Savage’s record, who is as primed as anyone to get a second title this year. It took him about 10 years to get back to the CWS last year. In 2024, UCLA was 19-33 and 9-21 in the Pac-12.

I’m so done with Jay.

I’m with you, it’s so hard dealing with a shitty season after only two national titles in three years. Maybe we can see if Mike Bianco is still available, and maybe Andy Cannizzaro can be an assistant.

Probably trying to give the talented freshman some experience in a lost season, dont mind it

Harden is a JUCO transfer - he’s a junior.

Hell.he was in the same situation 2 years ago, and 4. Just no consistency year to year. Think he was pretty hot and cold at Arizona as well.

2 years ago, his team was one out away from hosting a Super Regional. Very different situation.
