There are no undefeated pac. 12 teams. They are out already
I said assuming they are all undefeated, sans pac 12, they are all in.
Maybe I should have said minus?

Sorry coach. I know we arent supposed to talk about hypothetical scenarios because it affects the team. Wont happen again.

The SEC champ will make the playoff, whoever it is

SEC champion is the only automatic berth.

Confirmed. We will be in after winning the SEC.

No a 2 loss team won’t make the playoffs imo.

yes

If we win the SEC by beating an undefeated UGA or Tennessee, one of them is getting in over us with 1 loss. Same scenario happened with Penn St. a few years ago. Winning the conf didn’t save them, the playoff committee went with teams who had more wins even though it was obvious Washington was an inferior team and Ohio State not only lost the head to head but Penn St. won the outright Big Ten title.

2. You would think the SEC champs would get in, but that is not guaranteed.
3. IF LSU were to win out and beat UGA in SECCG, CFP would probably take 11-1 Tenn over 11-2 LSU who Tenn beat the crap out of.
This is true. If we want to have a shot at making the playoffs, our best shot is to have a 12-0 Tennessee in the SEC championship game. We are the clear cut #1 team out of the SEC if we win out and beat UT in Atlanta. in that scenario we’re 100% in the CFP with 2 losses.

Yes. SEC Champ would get in, along with a 1 loss Tenn.
Posted on 10/29/22 at 7:38 pm to Bayou Baler
No. UGA and the Gumps would though…

Only shot is if we best an unbeaten Tennessee. Even then it's a long shot unless a lot of things happen.
If we best an undefeated Georgia and UT has one loss, we can just enjoy the sugar bowl.

People who think a 2 loss LSU team would go to the playoff are sorely mistaken. They snubbed Penn State a few years ago and they hate Brian Kelly. The one loss team from the East will get in and LSU would need chips to fall their way to sneak in.

A two loss team made the bcs championship game and won. There are twice as many spots in the playoffs as they were back then so I would say yes. but I think Uga has a better team and would win that game going away against lsu in Atlanta.

If the FSU loss doesn’t bury us the blowout home loss to Tennessee will. They’re not gonna put us in over 2 one loss SEC teams who’s only loss came to either the #1 team or a top 10 team in a title game. What they’ll do is use us to boost the playoff expansion sale to the fans.

I wonder if you can get odds on this.

I guarantee the chances are <1%.

Tennessee would deserve it over LSU.
Posted on 10/29/22 at 8:28 pm to Srobi14
Because everyone else besides Ohio state had two Losses. If TCU, Clemson, winner of Ohio State/Michigan are undefeated they are not putting a two loss sec champion LSU over a 1 loss UGA or Tenn team. Hell Oregon may get in over us if they win out. Y’all have to understand conference champions don’t matter in the playoff era like the BCS.
