Crazy how many of you said Nussmeier was a bad QB.

Even though it was obvious he was dealing with a major injury. And now he looks great in the nfl preseason. Brian Kelly is simply a terrorist that should never be welcome in Louisiana again.

What’s his yard per attempt?

i think people said he played poorly not that he was bad. Which was the truth.

He was hurt, his oc was horrible, and that bad oc had one of the worst ol groups I've seen at lsu in 30 years of watching. A pure running qb is the only answer for the oline/ oc combo we had last yr.

Kelly should have sat him for 4 weeks. Nuss wanted to play and there's blame there, but that's typical with kids wanting to play through injuries.

So has he really looked that great in the preseason?

Both were said in about equal proportions. There was someone on here in a thread (can't recall which) just a couple of days ago saying people just needed to admit that Nuss was a bad QB.

Never underestimate the idiocy of a fan board.

That's what ended up happening. He sat the final four weeks of the season, and his backup just looked so much worse than even Nuss with an injury!

I’m not gonna blame Nuss for wanting to play through the injury. Pride and he thought he owed it to the team.

I do blame the adults in the room for not seeing he was hurt and sitting him however.

He's talented but I also think he could be lazy and complacent in the offseason. He came into 2025 no where near football shape and he gathered a ton of lingering injuries along the way because of it.

Really easy to talk about when you’re not in the midst of last season when Nuss looked awful.

If you say so. I haven’t followed. Looking for to LSU football though.

The season can’t start soon enough.

not knocking him but I wouldn't call these stats great:

61% comp %
172yds
0TD/0INT
about 4 yards per attempt.

Compare him to the Bama Rookie QB that many did not think highly of:

Simpson is at:
78% comp %
260+ yards
2TD/0 INT
about 7 yards per attempt.

Both are on good teams with established great offensive coaching

He was bad last year bc he was injured. Pretty simple

I think it was fairly obvious that even an injured Nuss was still as good or better than MVB.

MVB was not the hero tRant thought he was

His legs were injured too? Because he failed to scramble for easy first downs over and over again.
He also made sideline passes all season that really makes me wonder how “injured” he was that people make excuses and it is to blame for poor decisions.

Sure he was injured but he still threw the ball to the other team, took sacks, would not run.
It was a combination of bad online, bad schemes, bad coaching and some of his injury.
But this blaming his injury on why he was bad is getting old. He wasn’t a great QB. Good, never great. Injury or no injury.

Brother, I might be the biggest Nuss "hater" but if you think Nuss has GOOD preseason stats, you might just be on drugs.

Hes 22-36 for 172 Yards, 0 TDs, 0 Ints, and 2 sacks and his QBR is 72.9

These numbers are worse than Spencer Rattler FYI.

there were definitely some drops and penalties that took away his best throws in the pre season. pretty season nfl really doesn't reflect how someone will play the game planned against
