He played bad last year. Whatever the cause, he played bad. NFL teams also thought he played bad, that is why he was drafted where he was drafted. Playing bad and being bad are not the same.

The offense had no chance for success with him at QB last year. He was limited and because of that he was objectively bad.

He was a bad QB for the majority of his time at LSU but you could tell the potential was there

Way too early to tell if he can make something of himself in the NFL or not but we'll see

It's hilarious how some on here are working overtime to crap on Nuss . He has performed well as far as his PT during pre season. Stats aside, although there were some drops that skewed those stats, it's how he has performed that is the positive. He is looking downfield regardless of the pressure. He is extending plays by using his feet or stepping up in the pocket. He looks like he is not overwhelmed by the moment. And he is making the throws, That is what the coaches are looking at. He has looked just as comfortable in the pocket as Justin Fields. That is what you are looking for in a rookie QB.

His numbers disagree with this. He is 3rd on the list for all time passing yards behind Hodson and Burrow. Inspite of the putrid season he had his last year.

I wish the young man nothing but the best and hope he is able to live his NFL dream.

Nuss had tendency to try to force passes that were not there and either wouldn’t or was unable to run for a few yards when he should have but overall he was a good QB for us. Not nearly Burrow or Daniels level but more like the level of Mett. Maybe a bit better than Mett though I think Mett was hindered by a poor offensive strategy from the coaches than Nuss was but neither one’s offensive coordinators did them any favours.

We had two years of Nuss and his low QB IQ. Ya'll blamed BK, Sloan and Davis, everybody but him. If you watched his two preseason games instead the highlights, he still possesses those bad habits.

That’s the thing, his high lights are great and always get clipped & makes people drool

There is no in between with him. He has never put together any success over a full game Vs good teams.

His ceiling is Case Keenum/Chad Hennebut he’s prob closer to Nick Mullens or JT O’Sullivan

I never thought and definitely didn't say that. His last two seasons were marred with a very poor O-line scheme and performance, and injury. He would have been successful despite the injury if the O-line could run block AT ALL. Defenses ignored our running game and pinned their ears back. Nobody looks good in that situation.

What about the fact that he was horribly horribly out of shape and all reports saying he barely worked any with his receivers during the offseason?

Revisionist history this did not happen. My lord people just make shite up. Let me get this straight a former player played poorly and was hurt while electing to stay for his 5th and final season and a good portion of the fanbase just can't say hes a good Tiger who loved LSU it just didn't work out. We have to create narratives and crap on the kid? In an era when the vast majority of players transfer the kid stayed for a 5th year at LSU. SMH.

I remember this being said throughout last offseason… and thought it was bs at the time but after the way his body looked it was easy to see it was legit

He's going to throw a lot of picks trying that if he gets the chance in the NFL

Well to be fair he only had a fifth year because he quit on his team and refused to play in the bowl game

A non-mobile QB with a core injury playing behind a terrible OL with a playcaller who struggled all year is going to be bad.

Who cares. Nuss has arm talent and he's on a team with a GOAT at starter and a QB whisperer as the HC. Nuss is a great team guy and a high level backup/low-level starter. He's exactly where he should be.
