Kiffin will definitely help Bakers ability to slow down runnning QB’s. Kiffin knows how to study a defense and how he would attack Bakers defense and will be able to help Baker to be able to tweak some things if needed. Just like a good D coordinator can help offensive coaches if they see tendencies or whatever. They can communicate any weaknesses they see to the Offensive staff to help them improve as well
I agree. Especially with another year of leverage and development. Some jump to draft because of leverage when they are solid players but then drown in the minors. Who knows how many may have made it all the way with an extra year of development
If they would fix all the signing and transfer portal dates then the coaches leaving before end of regular season and all would mostly fix itself. That sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen though when you are trying to tell people when they are able to change jobs to further their career. I agree that firings and hirings should wait until after the season but until schedule changes greatly it will happen more often. I am even good if you announce during season that a change will be made at the end of year so you can openly start putting feelers out and talking to agents etc.
could you imagine combining these 3 with the haul we got this year with our freshman Dl. Imagine those guys together for a couple years, assuming they all develop and are as advertised.
I don't see anyway they can change rules like that and make it effective immediately when people have been completing rosters under different set of rules. Plus I don't see them being able to do that without declaring the older Euro guys on current rosters ineligible which would cause a big ole stink across the country.
We knew this was a strong possibility so at least it isn’t something that we haven’t been preparing for. He would have been a luxury
Then we should expect plenty of visitors seats available for the home team to use up since it would be way too dangerous for y'all to travel to Tiger Stadium for a game. Appreciate it.
Think it’s a great hire for D line help and obviously recruiting. As we get closer to season and in season I would prefer to see him take a back seat and just do his job and not do interviews just like anyone else in his role at other programs.
A lot of people’s gripe is age but if you think about a lot of small schools that make a Cinderella run in the tourney then look at their ages. Most are full of 4th and 5th year guys that are probably 22-24 years old. Only difference is most of them have been at same school whole time and in college whole time. Europe is different in that they go to play in these “pro” leagues instead of college but most aren’t better than major college basketball.
Yeah I originally heard the same thing mentioned before that Kansas backed off last year cause didn’t think he could get cleared so not sure if that part is correct. Hope it is though
Heard he has a flight to Japan scheduled. Gonna try Wade's route and load up internationally
my how times have changed. when have you ever been excited about a Vandy commit visiting. Also, rarely seen words of "elite Vandy commit" thrown around
So if we are still paying his buyout does that mean he is basically coaching for free? He was gonna get buyout money anyway. Salary should come out of that right? So we picked up a coach for nothing more than already paying?

This could be a replacement if we can’t get graves. Does anyone know how the two compare in their skill sets and which one is the better player of the two?
is this commit out of anticipation of a couple others that committed prior not being able to get eligibility? he originally said he would focus on paying 7-8 and possibly 9 guys. seems like we are already over that with a potential for one or two more
Sounds like fear of another potential competitor in conference quicker than he thought. He knew if we had to do it the traditional way of high school and college transfers it could take us several years to gain the credibility and winning culture to be really competitive. However with this route we can potentially do that over night which no coach wants within their conference. We pull this off and have a great year and deep run in tourney then with the support of the fans and donors we could become a legit problem.
Yeah if Kansas, Kentucky, Arizona, and UNC had all got one of them and we got one they would probably say this is good for making college basketball more international like the NBA has become. Since they got none and we got all of them then it becomes a problem and we are messing up the game. Sounds like a double standard going on. It’s ok as long as their darlings get a share of the pie.
Yeah I think it’s a lot of what has been said. You have these media members that primarily cover basketball and they are “purists” and are buddy buddy with the blue blood coaches and programs and will do whatever they can to make sure they stay on top. Heck like it’s been said, Kansas tried to get Dessert this past year but didn’t think he would be eligible so stopped. They will have a field day if LSU gets him eligible. Also other blue bloods were after some of the same players but we got them all so they view it as unfair to their precious programs. Perhaps they fear a “football” school like LSU with the backing to do something like this taking away from their precious historic programs and then other football schools follow suit. It will ruin their “perfect” world of basketball where they get to focus on 5-6 programs all the time.
So you are telling me we weren’t last. Very nice. Print this out cause it will look different in the very near future.

Are we gonna go back to having to beat the refs along with other team like when Wade was here before? National tone is not good for us right now. I don’t care and say load it up and just win baby. I just hope we don’t see an unusual number of calls go against us due to this
Is it the fact that some of the old school coaches of top programs look down on getting numerous Euro pro guys just because they have never had too? Is it coaches that don’t have the backing and funds to pull off numerous overseas guys in one year? Seems kind of crazy when this is not a new thing. Remember hearing Illinois had like at least 4 Euro guys on their final four squad. Michigan was all transfers. Is it fear from coaches that don’t have connections or know how to pull from overseas and they see themselves at a disadvantage now?
