How are you with long term recovery symptoms? I know my baw, Salmon, has said that he felt that his lung capacity was still down 90+ days later.

That's my only concern with getting Covid. I've traveled all over the US in the last 18 months and been fine, but it would suck to have my fitness impacted for a long time.

I didn't post this on the OT because I don't want the Q tards and C on Z to derail the thread. Is anyone still struggling with lingering things like that?

My wife (no pics) and I had it in February. We both had "mild" cases. She had fever for a few days and I only had it one day. Mostly sinus/headache symptoms and shortness of breath when moving around. We missed 2 weeks of crossfit. I would say it was a good 6 weeks before we felt somewhat back to normal. 1st week back I took it easy as breathing and heart rate got out of control easily. Gradually got better as time went on.

I'm feeling pretty much back to normal. The only thing I'm still noticing is that my average RHR is still higher than pre-COVID, but its starting to drop back down.

Pre-COVID my weekly average was 48-50, with the highest weekly average in the last 2 years of 52.

Post-COVID, I was sitting at an average RHR of 60-62 till early July.

Its back down to 56-58 range the past few weeks.

I got it right around the new year. It came on suddenly one morning. I woke up and couldn't smell a thing - not even whiskey, vodka, rubbing alcohol, coffee, etc. Coffee was incredibly bitter and the flavors of other foods were dull and muted. I went and got tested and, sure enough, I was positive. My only symptoms were a complete loss of smell for 10 or so days and muted sense of taste for a few weeks. I also sounded like I had some congestion, but I did not experience any. I had no fever, fatigue, cough, or headache. On the advice of my physician brother, I took zinc and Vitamin D supplements once I was diagnosed, drank plenty of water, and tried to go on a 30 - 45 minute walk every day during the quarantine period.

Once I got out of quarantine, I have not experienced a return of any symptoms or any other complications or issues.

I realize I am very fortunate.

Had it November 2020. Was running 2 miles a day a week later. Haven’t noticed any long term effects.

Just got it for the second time. I've been asymptomatic both times but there was a noticeable albeit small decline in my overall endurance from the first time and a HUGE decline this time but its only been 4 days so I'm hoping that's temporary.

I’ve had zero long term symptoms.

Went on a secluded run 3 days after first symptoms and felt normal.

That being said the actual sick time sucked. Was like the flu with very sensitive skin (almost like a sunburn) all over. Weird lower back/kidney area pain. On and off fatigue and headaches. Lots of sleep

I tested positive for it but am unsure if I ever had it.

I Never had fever nor did I lose my taste nor sense of smell. I had light to mild allergy symptoms for about 48 hours (cough, runny nose, mild sore throat). I slept more but I think it was because I had two weeks off and had to quarantine.

Had it twice. Once last summer, once this summer. First time was basically asymptomatic so nothing long term. 2nd time put me down pretty good for about a week, but all symptoms were completely gone by about day 12 from onset.

My only issue was lower back pain

After the 48 hours I felt like I had a minor flu, I was working out and going on runs. Even when I got tested the doctor didn’t think I had it bc all my vitals and breathing was normal

But the lower back pain lasted over a month

I got it for the first time about 2 weeks ago. I had the vaccine and my symptoms were mild. I felt like I was more winded during my workouts. I did have 1 night where it almost felt like I had the flu with fever, chills, sweating and body aches. I got a Fitbit recently and checked the stats for the night when I felt bad. It was cool to be able to see that it picked up all the metrics that it did on that night. The one with temperature was body temp. It said it was 4.5 degrees about normal which was close to what I got when I took it the next morning.

Here the study with FitBit data from symptomatic COVID cases that caused me to check my RHR data

quote:

This difference was most marked for RHR, with COVID-19–positive individuals initially experiencing a transient bradycardia followed by a prolonged relative tachycardia that did not return to baseline, on average, until 79 days after symptom onset.

I’m on week two of Covid. This explains my symptoms. Minus the sensitive skin. I haven’t gone to the gym in two weeks. Feel like I’m withering away.

It hampered my CrossFit workouts for about 3 months. It was a pain in the arse, lung capacity just sucked so my heart rate would explode.

I was fine after a few days but my smell stil isnt fully back after 6 months. It hung around 40% for 5.5 and a week or 2 ago it suddenly came back to about 75%. Tested lungs in the pool this summer and they're where they've always been.

We have two posters that have had covid twice?

The data does not support the odds of that.

21 1/2 yr old son has it. He is in good shape physically and has had headaches and fever and fatigue since Monday. His headaches subsided, fever was coming and going and his skin was sensitive. Today is day 7 and he says he is feeling better.
His brother is near 25 and I’m 69. We live together and his brother and I have no symptoms, therefore we were not tested. I may go tmo to get tested just so I can know if I am asymptotic or if the Pfizer shot I got back in March, 2021did it’s thing.
Neither son has had the poke.

I got it right before Christmas while training for an ultra. First symptom I noticed was struggling badly on an 8 mile run. I was exhausted for about 36 hours and no energy to train for a week. Otherwise I did not have any symptoms or struggles. Ran (jogged actually) ultra in mid January and early February with no noticeable impacts.
