I’m an old man now but when I was a new dad I struggled with my oldest. I played every sport available as a kid and thrived. I was typically one of the best 2 or 3 on the team (small town so not too impressive). My oldest some was/is a great kid, super smart and just awesome to be around. When it came to team sports, it’s like the light just didn’t come on. He wasn’t terrible or scared but he just didn’t get IT.

Eventually I accepted that and then he discovered other things like water skiing, snow boarding and jiujitsu. He thrived in all of those and loved them. He competed in jiujitsu and MMA and loved it. He wasn’t world class by any means but was pretty good and instead of being frustrated and an outsider on the teams, he became confident and also now has a great work ethic.

Let him try some different stuff and you will both enjoy when he finds something he’s passionate about. Good luck
It’s a nice way of saying, “listen to all of the options and don’t just press 0”

Got this in with the junk mail this week. Is this new or have I just been missing out? Didn’t mention any catering staff. I wonder if getting top quality servers is an option. Will I have to wait on spicy?

Got a rehearsal dinner to host soon. Not sure if the old lady (no pics) will be happy with the mild or spicy with red beans and rice and a biscuit. Sounds like a perfect, upscale solution to me. Tell me those chicken sliders wouldn’t be a hit.
Going to talk to CPA Monday. He did my taxes. It’s not life changing money but more than I want to part with
I’ve lived at the same address the entire time. Never anything regarding this return. I’ll be able to find my return but I don’t think my bank records will be easy to find from 8 years ago. I’m sure I’ll end up paying. Almost impossible to fight and the interest will continue to pile up.
Of course the penalties and interest are more than the alleged underpayment. 7 years. I had no idea they went back that far. What a racket.

My bad. I’ll have to take the downvote. I never think about taking pictures. It had a nice dark bark with a sweet smoke ring. Hopefully that helps ??

I went hotter than usual. Tried 275°. Usually like 225-250 but wanted to move it along and see how it turned out. Finished about 4. So 11 hours on 12lb brisket. Even made a few burnt ends off the point. Not best ever but solid.
Just basic salt and pepper with a little bit of a new rub that my son and DIL gave me for Christmas
Homemade by welder buddy. Just your basic pit with offset smoker box

Brisket on the smoker

Put it on at 5 am. It’s going to be a nice relaxing day.

Update: wrapped it in some butcher paper about 10 it was sitting at 160. Just checked the temp and it’s at 180. Expecting to pull it about 4:30-5 and slice about 6:30
I did book it way in advance. I’m sitting in the exit row with my legs stretched out. The two people sitting next to me, with their legs dangling, need width not length. Oh well. Only an hour left.

Exit row is for tall people

The seats have more leg room not arse room. Sorry for the rant. I’m with the poors flying commercial coach jammed against the window. I know most of you can’t relate.
I will be on rooftop of my buddy’s condo in Waco. Perfect spot. Probably rain.
Meanwhile, Sams just sent notice that they will be removing the door person. They will be using technology to scan your buggy and determine how many items you are leaving with. I love Sams Scan and Go. I hope they don’t eff it up.
I think JD is the best QB in the country this year. But JB would never lose that Ole Miss game. Offense could have closed that game out in 4Q and didn’t. That never would have happened with Burrow. 2019 Bama was proof of that.

Looks like I’m in for a bumpy ride. Thanks. Guess I’ll have to day drink
Hey Legend.
Flying in from east cost connecting in ATL tomorrow afternoon. Should I expect anything exciting?
